    88 325is, M50 swap / S50 cams, highly optioned

    1988 325is with M50 swap / M3 cams
    ** CA Smog Legal **
Alpine White with Black Leather interior.
$7900. Feel free to reasonable obo, but I've already turned down some decent offers. I've had it for sale for a while, I'm already down to my "heck with it, I'm keeping it" price.

Really nice clean car, 3rd owner, all documents since new.
Nicely optioned, all the little extras: OBC, maplight mirror, premium stereo, cassette console, Sport Seats, etc.
100% rust free, God Bless California.

Suspension totally refreshed... Ready for Autocross or DE events.
-- M3 springs, lowered about 1" but doesn't impede daily driving.
-- Bilstein shocks, E36 shock mounts, Z3 reinforcing mounts.
-- TreeHouse Racing front suspension mounts.
-- Suspension Techniques 21mm sway bars
-- Welded-in Turner Motorsports rear sway bar reinforcements.
-- Brand new Falken 225/50/15 tires.

Engine swap was professionally done at VM Werks in Sacramento.
    -- 1995 M50 engine
-- M3 cams installed + Turner chip should deliver ~200whp.
-- Oil Pump Nut welded, engine resealed with all new gaskets
    -- Original G260 trans, 3.73 LSD
Everything was well done, no disappointments.

Why selling? Dunno, the car is "done." The car is 100% reliable daily driver It's time for someone else to take it to Show Car or Track Car status.

    Engine pic

    Super clean install.

Registered the swap thru California BAR... Passed smog with flying colors last month, even with the hotter M3 cams. Smog inspection not required for another two years.

Recently installed an aftermarket fan to keep things cool. Also 88/80c temp switch and Water Wetter. Temp gauge never climbs above midpoint, even in stop and go traffic.

Anything that was questionable was replaced during swap: New PS pump, new MAF, valve cover & oil pan gaskets. Oil pump nut was welded.

      Interior shot

Very good condition interior, highly optioned car.

-- Black leather seats, driver seat cushion recently restuffed.
      -- Crack free dash
-- All the little extras 13 button OBC, maplight mirror, cassette holder console.
-- All electronics work... cruise, fogs, etc etc

Buy it at my price, and I'll throw in a Oil pressure, temp, volt gauge kit ready to install. Leather trimmed gauge cluster (search under my userid for details).

Still for sale. The swap was professionally done last fall, about 2500 miles ago. The engine has been dead-on reliable since the swap.

Swapped engine was from 95 525i automatic that had been T-boned. I bought the engine from the shop that had maintained the donor car for years. Engine had ~110k miles, I had the shop to do a compression test before I bought it. Nice clean engine. I paid good money for the engine, it wasn't some chop-shop special. Added M3 cams, professionally installed.

I went through two other engines before finding the "right" one. The other ones were turned into parts/accessories donors or parted out.

Bumpety Up. Consider interesting trades, including small pickup truck (Tacoma, Colorado).

Paint is nice 'n' glossy. I've been spending my weekends polishing it up.
