Factory paint sticker reads ‘sonderlackierung’ which translates to “special laquer finish”. My belief, and my friend who is a BMW Master tech, is that whoever ordered this car in 1984 was quite specific and knew what they wanted (basically an early BMW Individual car). It was imported to Mario’s Motors in Texas, as the label inside the trunklid states. I have the original booklets from the car, including the hand-written paint color, which says ‘Alpin Blau’. The car ran until two years ago when it was parked. I managed to get the car running, with a jumping idle, but hasn’t run as it doesn’t have a battery (and motor would/could be swapped anyway). The motor is also something to make a little money off if you pull it, the head is desirable for a 2.7i. Paint is in good shape, chrome bumpers are a little faded, rest of the car is stock. The interior was tan sport leather, but was very moldy and smelled terrible so I pulled it. I have a full cardinal red sport interior that will come with the car. There is only the drivers cardinal sport seat in it now, I have a box with all the trim I removed.
Being it is a project car, it has areas that need a good amount of work. A semi-recent hail storm ripped through my area, denting up both my BMWs. Rusty floorpans and a hole in the rocker is the only other issues with the car. Drivers side rear pan will need to be replaced, as well as the passenger front panel, up into the glovebox/firewall area and front battery box (strut is NOT rusted, it is structurally sound). Replacement panels from another e30 are included with the car as well! If you have a welder or a friend who can weld, this is not as major of a task to undertake. The panels are literally a cut up e30 floor section, the entire thing, so cut what you need out of it when youre going to replace the panels.
