    (DC/MD/VA/WV) FS/FT: 86 eta 5mt sedan. Perfect swap recipient!

    Well, here is the deal...

I bought it as a parts car but when I saw that it was straight and pretty complete on the exterior, I think it seems like a waste to part out a car with a straight frame/body. I was not expecting to get a title with it, but the guy had it. It has a good title.

It had the HG go on it, so it needs a new motor. The head is in the trunk and the block is still in the engine compartment. The previous owner took the driveshaft, exhaust, the rear seat and door panels, plus a few other interior parts.

It would really be a great track car, or if you have interior parts, it would be a good daily, but only if you wanted to go to the trouble of a motor swap. Just the spare 5mt, subframes, brake calipers, elipsoid brackets (one low beam is cracked), strut housings, door locks, handles, window motors, alternator, A/C system, and complete sunroof are probably worth more than I am asking for the complete car. All 4 doors look straight, the hood is pretty good, and the trunk is not bad (though I'd like to keep it).

If I had the space for 5 cars, I'd keep it and do an M50 swap in it.

So if I part it out, I can make more on it than what I want to sell it for, but I woul drather keep it mostly together. The problem is that the parts that I want make it difficult to get rid of the chassis after pulling them.

I really want the wheels (a buddy needs them), the rear subframe (complete side to side, with axles/halfshafts), and POSSIBLY the trunk.

My offer would be to give someone the whole car (minus wheels- bring your own) in exchange for a complete rear subframe and differential (3.73S, 3.46S, maybe even a 3.25S or 4.10S), and possibly cash.

I would pull out a few other small parts that you might see in the pics that I got from the seller, but nothing that is essential or necessary for this car to be tracked.

I would also sell for $500, with title. If I don't sell or get a trade offer in the next week or so, I will part it out, but I hate to see a clean title get parted out.

I have a rear setup minus the subframe. Well I do have a subframe but the diff mounting points broke off. I could probably weld them back on if that's ok. I have a 3.73lsd but it needs the input bearings replaced. Would you consider those and some cash?

        Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

It is in the relm of consideration. It really depends on how much cash. I am not looking to make a killing or anything.

I need to look at what all is involved in changing the input bearings.

As far as the subframe, my hope was to have a spare subframe and RTABs to clean up and install new bushings so that I have a quick swap-in upgrade to my worn out rear end.

Let me look into what all is involved in the bearing replacement and we can talk.

If you want to email me to talk specifics, the address is patrickhenry at gmail dot com.

Thanks for the email. Given what all it will take to update the 3.73, I'll pass on the trade + cash with the diff/subframe, but I sent a counter-offer. I actually have a 3.73S in my 88, but I was hoping to get a known good one to swap in without needing any refreshing.

I will sell the car for cheap, if you want it.

I have replied to your email.

I am officially willing to part out the 86. I'll sell it whole, but I don't feel like having it in my driveway for more than a couple of weeks.

Once I pull off what I want/need to keep or sell, I will sell the shell with title for anyone who wants it. Depending on what all is left on it, the chassis will sell for between a case of beer and $100.

Bump. Will trade for a subframe, RTAs, and a 3.73 or 4.10 LSD.

Or make a cash offer. Want it gone.

                    Bump...pricing to move...

With a set of mis-matched steel wheels/tires and no trunk, I will let this go for $300. Add $40 if you want me to get you a trunk. Subtract $40 if you bring your own wheels and tires.

I have snatched a few random small parts, but nothing critical. I pulled the late-model headlights (which were not connected) and I have a set of the original lights, less one small bracket.
