1987 BMW 325IS 2 owner car 195000 miles $3500
Bought in 2003 in San Diego from the original owner who replaced it with an e46 M3. I have all his service records as well as my own. “The Driving Machine” in Cupertino maintained the car for the past seven years. I had H&R sport springs, Bilstein shocks, M3 control arm bushings, pagid brake pads, and TMS sway bars professionally installed. It stops, turns, and goes pretty darn well and would make an excellent autocross or track car. However, it's also quite reliable and the ride is very good even though it's on sport springs (the right dampers do wonders) so it would be a shame to not also daily drive it.
Cosmetically, it could use a respray, but the interior is very good besides some seat wear and the original floor mats. Under those floor mats the carpet is untouched. A respray, some leather dye, and new floor mats would have the car looking top notch if that is what you would like. I'm pretty happy with the current condition considering the age of the car.
Mechanically, it's well maintained as mentioned above, as well as more stable at speed and has a smoother power delivery than many modern cars I've driven. It's coming up for a timing belt replacement and it could use an AC charge. However, besides that, it needs nothing as far as I know. Just drive and enjoy.
