Indeed. I am working on getting proper weaves on it, swapping the entire interior out from tan to black, and once it is where I want it mechanically, it will probably get a DS respray.

The engine will likely be stoked to 2.5 since the cylinders are slightly ovalling anyway.

Its an 88, no accidents, no rust, no mods but needs love as its been neglected for a few years. I have love to give it.

Congrats, mind posting or pm'n mileage and price? I'm looking for one more of a project and trying to figure out what is "reasonable".

Not an expert by any means, but did just recently buy an e30 M3 so I'm somewhat familiar with the current price range. I'd say that you could expect to pay anywhere from 6-7k for a car that is at or around roller status (maybe 5-6k for a shell), 7-12k for a driveable example that needs a lot of work, and maybe 12-15k for something kind of in between. The nicer examples seem to be starting in the 15-16k range, and clearing high 20's-low 30's for really pristine cars. I picked up a really clean DS with basically a brand new s52 drivetrain swap for about 19k recently. Had some minor cosmetic issues ~ a couple small door dings, some minor fading of paint on the spoiler and rear bumper, and a couple scratches on the front lip, but otherwise a pretty solid 8-9/10 both in and out. Hope that helps calibrate your search.

Very accurate. There is a $15k rule for the e30 M3 that is basically you can buy a decent 8.5/10 with good paint, no mods, original everything, limited owners, minor if any accidents and service records between 120-200k miles OR buy one cheaper and end up dumping the difference into it and end up around 15k to get it where you could have bought it that way to begin with. The trick is to buy one that is worth restoring for CHEAP CHEAP with NO rust, as much original as possible and hopefully some service records. I landed somewhere in that mix, intend on dumping about 5K into it and it will be a nice example shy of a respray (that would add another 3-5k to be worth having done). Alvin Tan just sold his Dinan E30 M3 for $55k, I've seen garage queens go for between $35-45k this year. ALL E30 M3s are on the rise and will not fall. Finding a great deal is getting tough. I got an alright deal that I think I can afford to make a great deal (though I'll keep it).

this is an oxymoron. i think you mean that you want ellipsoids, though, because sealed beams suck.

I have a set of e30 m3 weaves, need a repaint and caps. Can let them go for 250 plus shipping if you like. Congrats on m3 ownership!
