Perfect car for a body off restoration as this car is almost 100% original. The only parts missing are the spare and the carpet set. I have yet to confirm the engine and transmission with a birth certificate from WW but I'd be really suprised if they weren't original as you'll see from the pictures besides the wear and rust this car is just how it left WW.
Odometer reads 77,XXX and again i haven't had a chance to confirm this with the DMV.
The motor runs great but smokes a bit so it probably needs piston rings. Its currently out of the car as i was going to restore this but have decided to go a different path for a project but when i put it back in i can compression and leak down test to find out more. It has the original 28 pict but it does have an uh-oh nine. All of the heat exchangers are there. Original generator that does work and original fuel pump bits leaking where the two halfs are joined. All tin is there, still the 6v system and even the original sound insulation in great condition!
The transmission shifts great and doesn't pop out of any gears. Clutch still has a lot of life on it.
E-brake works, but the line running the rear brakes rotted so i can't comment on the foot brakes.
Dash is complete with all accessories. Head lights and high beams work, brake lights work, turn signals work, horn does not, radio does not, speedo isn't hooked up but lights up as does the fuel gauge.
Original seats are pretty dirty but can be cleaned up with simple green and a brush. All of the original door cards in good condition just a few smudges, no damage though. All of the original sound insulation on the floor pans and tunnel are there.
Now the bad part...the body. It will need to pulled off in order to perform all of the proper rust repair. It needs heater channels (i have both new heater channels), driver floor pan(could be patched though, and i do have both new floor pans), both lower rear quarters (have these as well), lower driver door (I have an extra door which can be used to graft metal from), Both rear wheel wells where the body mounts it has rotted to the inside (mounts are good though), it has rusted through on both sides where the rear bumper mounts are, on both sides where the channels meet the rear cross member there are small spots where it has rusted through, on the "firewall" in the front there is a spot on the outside just to the left of the brake master cylinder where its rusted, a few small spots on the front fenders and then on the inside below the rear window there are good size holes.
I do have the front bumper but the supports are missing.
All of the glass is in great condition besides a small chip on the wind shield, no crack just a chip.
Extra parts include: 1600 heads, crank, rods, cam and gear, cooling tin, monza muffler, hard brake lines, rubber brake lines, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, two manuals, box full of about 40 hot vw magazines, vintage cooler, vintage thermo mug (about 1.5 gallons), vintage collapsing shovel, one extra front seat (missing bottom cover), extra starter, both heater channels and floor pans, both lower rear quarter panels, tow bar (so you don't even need a trailer just a car with a hitch), and a few extra wheels.
Well that all i can think of now. I have over 150 pictures on my computer so if your interested i'll send them your way.
$1700
