    '83 Porsche 911 SC

I know this is a BMW forum, but I figured it can't hurt to post this up and see what you fellas think. And, as always, I appreciate your input and advice!! Thanks in advance!!

1983 Porsche 911 SC VIN WPOAA0918DS121110 , 165K miles, New Michelin Pilot Sports all around, 225 in front and 265 in rear, Fiske 3 piece rims, cross drilled rotors, strut tower bar, 3.0 litre engine, Bursch stainless steel 3" exhaust, 2 new H4 headlights, 993 Mirrors, Short shift kit installed, 800 Watt MTX amp for 10" sub, 600 Watt MTX amp for speakers & tweeters, CD player with 4 months left of XM satellite radio, new Optima red top battery, carbon fiber sport seats, original seats included, lots of extra parts are also included.
    .
The bad... lost a battle with a concrete support pillar in a parking garage and front pass side got crunched. New fender is attached, but it's gonna need some body work then some fresh paint. The RSR front fiberglass nose piece is repairable, and it is included. The rear main seal leaks and needs to be replaced very soon. The front main seal isn't as bad, but it does leak. Also, rear driver's side took a small knocking and the tail light lens cracked up. The A/C compressor has been removed, so no A/C.
    .
This 911 is with me in Charlotte, NC (28208) and I am selling it for a friend. Asking $10,500 OBO. Please let me know what you guys think about this 911 and feel free to come check it out!! Thank you in advance!!

No, car is just wearing one of my old CT plates. Car is currently not registered. Car is located in Charlotte, NC 28208 .
It would be a great project restoration car, or track car. Could also be parted out for some good $$$, if you've got the time & wrenching skills to pull it apart (I hate to say that, but it is on option worth mentioning).
          Thanks!!

              Now asking $9000 !!

This 911 is a prime candidate for a winter rebuild/restoration project, or turn it into a track rat. Or parts it out  so other 911's can live on and make some $$$!!!

              Thanks fellas!!

The VIN is supposed to be WP0AA0918DS121110 not with a O, its a zero.

Clean report on the car, but it was last registered in CA?

So your asking 9k for a crashed car that has 165k miles on it, has problems, and is more than 25 years old. i don't mean to take a shot at you, but can some body tell me if thats a reasonable going price for a '83 911? if the damage was fixed, i can see it i guess... i just doesn't sound right when it's also being sold as a potential parts car.

                  VINs don't have "O". it looks too much a like a "0"

Thanks for correcting the VIN for me!! I got the O when it should have been a 0. My error, and thanks for correcting it!!

And $9k is just the asking price, the market (potential buyers such as you guys) will correct that and the selling price will ultimatley dictate what the car is worth. Pristine 911 SC's have asking prices anywhwere from $13k all the way to $18k. And asking prices are very rarely selling prices.

The main reason that I emphasize this car as a parts car or turning it into a not-street legal track rat is because I am pretty sure there will be title & paperwork issues. The only paperwork on this car is a copy of a California title from 2001 with my friends name on it. I've known my friend for over 3 years, and I know he owns the car free and clear of any liens, that's not an issue. But I doubt my friend ever titled or registered this car in NC. I also doubt that my friend ever paid any property taxes on it, which is what the problem will be. I asked my friend Tom Papadopoulos of Autosport Designs (registered DOT importer & exporter) about the situation, and his advice was to go to the NC DMV with the Cali title and just say that I own the car now, and want to title it in NC. Then see what they say.

My thinking is that parting the car out would bypass all the issues. It is a unique situation that I am not sure how to deal with. I would appreciate your views on this situation and how to deal with it. And if there's anyone in the Charlotte area that wants to meet me or check the car out, then PM me. I am more than happy to meet anyone and discuss this situation in person. I know you guys will have some views and ideas that will benefit this situation. And I thank you in advance fellas!!

                      I see.
another solution you could look into would be a mechanics lien... google it. they take awhile to come through, but think it's a likely solution.
