Im still newb to E30's, but I thinks this:
take the "s" off and you might find what you want.
if an "is" pops up in those years and price you will have to hurry
couple tweaks to and "i" and you can have an "s" or even better.

cl has spurts of cheap ones. i got my 325is for $900 ;P keep up the search, be patient.

Was it white? There was an 89 325is someone said needed a little work. Listed at $900. Couldn't believe it. Now days a beater plastic bumper 325is is $2500.

Theres nothing wrong with eta's. Get a chip , 3.73 lsd and you will dogg on IS's.
1500 for a IS is a no go. Somtimes you get lucky, most ppl selling them know what they are worth. I got lucky and got a 87 vert with a 30k miles engine for 1,000. But i searched long time. gl

There's a 88 silver sedan for 1950.00 in the San diego craigslist. Recently had the timing belt, water pump, head gasket, crank seal, valve cover seal, catalytic converter, new tires, and fresh smog.
