    Non-E30 F/S in Braintree, MA: '82 VW Rabbit, 2.0L 8v, many upgrades

    SOLD! SOLD! SOLD!

    1982 Volkswagen Rabbit Custom

    Built 2.0L 8V
    Close-ratio 5-spd gearbox
Neuspeed springs, sway bars, front lower tie bar
Bilstein front struts, Sachs rear struts
GTI vented disc front brakes, about 5k miles on new pads, rotors, calipers, flex hoses, rear drums and wheel cylinders
Great condition black leather Corrado front seats, factory red interior.
195/50ZR15 Bridgestone RE-01R tires with less than 2k miles on them mounted on 15x7 Zender Challenge wheels
175/70R13 General Altimax Arctic snows with less than 3k miles mounted on factory steel wheels
Odo reads 106k, but gets stuck occasionally. I would estimate it is still under 115k.

Runs and drives great, very quick, handles beautifully and is very stable at highway speeds. Its honestly more fun on the street than my S50-swapped E30.
Mechanically the car is very sound, I wouldn't hesitate taking it on a long trip as is.
The paint is original and the clear coat is coming off, and there is some rust around the windshield, at the bottom front corner of the RF door and on the RR fender lip.

Bought a more 'refined' daily driver- e34 535i. I really wish I could keep it but I already have a 'fun' car.

Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

The previous (and original) owner had the motor done, but I do have a build sheet from Techtonics. I can't be sure that its for the current motor though because I know the guy was constantly tweaking it.

Nothing special to look at under the hood, but it reminds me of the new battery I put in last winter and the super-trick e30 windshield washer reservoir retrofit.

Alpine CD Player and Infinity Kappa 3.5" Coaxials in the dash. Old school Momo steering wheel.
