WTB: S50/52 swapped E30 in the Midwest.

    UPDATED

I just sold my M3 and right now at the point in my life where i really wanna pull the trigger on a swapped e30. Anything within reasonable travel distance of the Milwaukee area would be preferable. ~200 miles or so

For those of you who might have buddies on the fence contemplating selling them maybe ask them if they are interested.

Shoot me any info to quillbro@yahoo.com or post up here. Thanks.

Obviously an s50/52 would be prefferable but i would consider M swaps as well. Cosmetics aren't as much a concern as mechanics. I'm looking for a DD here. Relatively clean, but nothing thats gonna break the bank. Coupe or sedan, doesnt really matter

ALPINE WHITE is my number one color... As always I'll keeping surfing the forums. I'd like to buy in the next 4-8 weeks though.

midwest e30 scene is pretty lame you're probably going to have to branch out a bit more.

This is a man's answer to your problem.

          1. Find car, negotiate deal.
          2. Buy 1-way plane ticket to city where vehicle currently resides.
          3. Put gas in tank and drive home.

Just about anywhere in the country is going to be no more than a 2 day drive.

This probably works sometimes. But i have been burned 4 times to varying degrees from buying bmw's sight unseen off the internet.

Yes i got pictures, descriptions ect. But at the end of the day you are taking a strangers word that what you are buying is as advertised. In my limited experiences ive gotten screwed.

Im sure there are tons of people that have had pristine transactions. I'm not one of them and that's why id rather drive to the car and look at it before i fork over money.

Im not a tire kicker by any means, and I dont haggle about scratches in paint or wear on seat bolsters... Im not that kind of a person.

But ive just had bad experiences with shipping cars, or flying out to purchase.

In a perfect world, I would have more time than money and I would be able to just build my car. I tried this once got 60% done with it only to have to up and leave and let my project die in place. It was depressing and I wont undertake a project like that again until i have ample time.

Anyway if it takes me a longer period of time to find my car I will just keep looking. But thanks for the insight.

How much are you looking to spend? I don't have one swapped, but I do have 5 e30 cars...and would be willing to do a swap in one and sell it to you.

              I'm in central IL.

What im willing to spend depends on the quality of the car, im pretty open.

Sooner than later... I was in the military for about 7 years did some overseas work after that... i havent been home long enough to really find a nice car until this time. So im kinda itching to find something good.

Anyway i am ready to purchase right now if I find something in the area, unfortunately though due to past experiences im not really in the mood to fly out far away from home to look at a car, so im looking for something in the Midwest, or fairly close to it.

If someone has any "feelers" let me know.

you should consider abe's car... he's in san antonio, his car would be worth a plane ticket.

IL wouldn't be that bad of a drive.

here is his car. good guy, give him a call..

atlanta would be the other location where you will be able to find a decent amount of swap cars that isn't too far away from you.

                      Good luck with your search.
