After some deliberation, I'm leaning towards selling my e30. I purchased it in the fall with the hopes of making it a long-term project. However, after some recent events (deciding to buy a house in the VERY near future and getting a quote recently from a local body shop), I'm thinking I might be in over my head.
The Good
The Not so Good
When I bought the car, I did so knowing that the hood and fenders needed replacing (one fender was rusted through and the other fender and hood were crumpled from the accident). Since purchasing it, I've replaced the damaged body parts.
I don't WANT to sell the car and haven't 100% decided what I'm going to do with it, but I could always decided to keep it stored and work on it further down the road. But I also wanted to see if there was anyone on here who might be interested in it. It's not currently the prettiest thing to look at, but for someone who needs a good running car and doesn't car about paint/body, then this is perfect. Could also be good for an Auto-X car or just good for someone who does body work and could fix it up on their own.
I don't do bodywork, so it probably wasn't the best decision for me. In the future, I'd like to look for something a bit cleaner that might need some mechanical TLC.
Anyway, feel free to ask any questions you may have. I realized I haven't put a price, but that's because I don't know how much I'd want for a car that I'm unsure if I'm selling right now. So if interested, PM me an offer and we can talk from there. I have a set of 14" basketweaves that I would consider throwing in for nothing.
Thanks for looking....here are some shots of the car:

- 1989 325i (2 door)
- 5 speed
- 181,xxx miles
- Engine runs strong and idles perfectly
- Tranny shifts smoothly
- Interior is CLEAN...tan vinyl comfort seats with no tears/cracks/etc. 2 or 3 minor cracks in the dash that can probably be easily patched up
- New hood, both front fenders, and front valance
- Pretty good tires all around/bottle caps are in good shape
- Power windows and mirrors work great
- 3.73 LSD
- New fan clutch
- New thermostat
- Recent maintenance (within the last 2 years): timing belt + tension pulley, water pump, brakes all around, front wheel bearings, alternator, control arm bushings, and sway bar links
- New intake boot
- No rust underneath
- Can easily be a daily driver
- I also have a new rust-free passenger door that I haven't put on yet, but that will be included since the passenger door on the car is pretty rusted out
The Not so Good
- Some rust/rot on passenger side rocker panel
- Original Cirrus Blue paint is faded
- Front driver-side bumper shock mount (where it mounts to the Core Support) was pushed back in an accident from the PO
- Needs new exhaust (I just installed a Stromung exhaust, but that will not be sold with the car...I still have the old one, but you'd be better off driving it home with no cat-back than with the old one, as it was pretty rotted out)
