How much slower is a 318is compared to a 325is? I live and drive where we have a lot of mountains and my old e36 318i was just too doggy on the hills so I have always kinda of shunned the e30's based on this. But this one is just so nice and has me thinking of getting into one but I would hate it if it was a dog on the interstate climbing steep passes, nothing more embarassing then having to grab a gear to get up the hill at 65 or so cuz it just won't pull.

I can embarass a 325i in my 318is if he can't launch properly - the power/weight ratio gives the e30 318is (2400lbs/136hp) a huge advantage over the e36 318i (3300lb/136hp) and e30 325is ( 2800/160hp)

well i work in area where there is mountains an hills and i have to say that my ram 1500 5.2l v8 was slow as hell now that iam driveing my 318 iam on top of that hill in no time its quick . ( but not super fast )

Hmmmm that is good to hear and yea the power to weight thing must be a huge help. 400lbs lighter then a 325is eh? wow.

325's are and were for the general public, the 318is will always be the driver's car of choice - no bullshit to weigh it down. Slicktop 318is' weigh closer to a single ton!
