FS: *slightly banged up* '91 318is, help me out! (New England)

Ok, maybe a little bit more than "slightly"

Even though I have full coverage, progressive insurance started to argue with me the day I gave my testimony about how they don't see how they are able to give me coverage for this:

    http://r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=199213

this is what the car looked like prior:

You can see the current pics in the first thread.

It was sold at $3500, with the damage I'm looking for much less.
So now, asking price is $2500 or best reasonable offer. You are responsible for shipping/pickup - the car is very much drivable and besides the bodywork it's a very solid car.

I wanna know your body guy and part source then. I see it needs a hood, fender, grille, plastic bumper in front, maybe in rear, needs a tail light, trunk looks tweaked, quarter has damage. Even doing it yourself is gonna cost a fair amount and take a lot of time to get it back to the way it looked.

Good luck though, hope you get what you want for it. Sad to see happen as I liked your car.

If you're going through a body shop and don't have any sort of connection with them, I'm sure they're going to rip you off.

Realistically, though - you're looking at filling the dent in the back and getting a front valence, front and rear bumper covers and hood/trunk. I have fenders.

I don't think anybody that's buying a crashed e30 is going to be taking it to a body shop, though, no matter how minor :)

I have similar body damage to my coupe as well, I've been quoted a complete replacement quarter panel but this gives me some hope. I'll check with my body guy and see if he can fill the tweaked quarter panel instead of replacing it.

              Good luck with the sale!

                Definitely, thx!

It's not entirely difficult to fill - bang out what you can, fill, sand (rinse and repeat), then primer/paint - skip the bodyshop where possible.

A good example is my old mustang, I got quoted something like $3,500 for a front end collision repair - including paint, I was into it for less than $500.

That definitely well over 1000 dollars worth of repairs if taken to a legit autobody shop. Im sure it could be done for less, but you get what you pay for most of the time especially when it comes to body work. Why dont you fix it yourself and sell it? Or even keep it seeing that everybody loves an alpine e30? Thats just my bias opinion. LOL. I dont mean to be negative, but its honestly going to be hard to get someone to pay anything over 1000 dollars for it as it sits. People only take the time to buy damaged cars if the price is super cheap or if the car itself is super rare.

Again, I'm not sure why anybody would bring any car (e30 or not) to a body shop without an insurance settlement check in-hand, especially when the damage is as minimal as a couple body panels and a dent. $1000 is a bit cheap, don't you think? I mean, shit, the interior on this thing alone is worth about that much, throw in the fact that it's a running, driving e30 that doesn't need anything but bodywork? A running car alone in my neck of the woods is at least $1500, no matter how ugly it is.

I'm going to be working on the car while I have it, but if somebody wants a good deal, the ad's already up. Personally, I hate the white and I have since I've owned it. I know it's the most desirable color, but I prefer red.

Are you guys fucking retarded? Go get it fixed right or part it out. Don't just fill and forget big ass dents like that... this isn't a god damn daewoo.
