    CA: 1983 Toyota Corolla SR-5

So I think, this time, I'm really gonna let this car go. I don't have the money to do the suspension right, swap a 4age, and fine tune everything, so I've decided to just sell it and get a new car. But I could change my mind again, cause this is my first car and i love this thing, so jump on this quick.

    THE BAD:
    - Salvaged title due to theft, original owner is a family friend, and said the car was stolen but recovered.
    - Will not pass smog. All emission, smog, and vacuum lines were removed and sealed.
    - Bondo in the rear passenger side fender
    - Paint job is not completely done, still has that orange peel look, just needs wet standing
    - Squeaks and rattles from the driver side window, seems like the window isn't sitting properly against the weather seal. Piping rattles, due to poor welding and hanging.
    - Rattling noise in 3rd and 5th gear, only when the gas is stepped on. If you hold the shifter a certain angle, it goes away, but ill include a another T50 transmission.
    - Slow as fuh. It has a weber but its still a carburetor.
    - Bounces when you hit nasty bumps, but smooth on good roads.
    - 244,416 miles on chasis
    - Dings, scratches, and small dents here and there.
    - Rear defroster does not seem to be working.

    THE GOOD:
    - 26 MPG on 87 Octane. Save yourself some money from ridiculous gas prices
    - Registered till July 2011
    - Freezing Cold Air Conditioning
    - Heater works
    - Has a catalytic converter
    - 32,XXX miles on rebuilt motor
    - T50 transmission, ready for a 4-AGE swap. (Will throw in another T50)
    - Clean and straight body for the most part.
    - Very clean and well maintained interior.
    - Routine maintenance done, including inspections, oil changes, fluid checks, alignments and all that.
    - No power steering. This is a MAN's car. haha
    - One of a kind, you probably wont find a car done like this anywhere else.
    - Female compliment magnet. Seriously, I can't even explain the amount of comments girls give this car.

    ENGINE/TRANSMISSION:
    - Engine runs smooth, gives me no problems and i drive this thing ever day.
    - 32,108 current miles on rebuilt 4-AC
    - Rebuilt in August of 2009
    - 244,416 original miles before rebuild
    - 32/36 Weber Downdraft Carburetor
    - All emission, vacuum, and smog lines removed and capped.
    - Polished valve covers.
    - Block was re-bored, using over-sized pistons
    - Head was machined, honed, seats and valves were ground as well alone with new seals and retainers
    - Original 5-speed T50 transmission with 276,524 total miles, no grinds, just that rattling in certain gears. could be the synchros or something minor.
    - Battery was just replaced.
    - New spark plug wires, alternator, and fuel filter and pump were put in when engine was rebuilt.

    SUSPENSION/WHEELS:
    - FRONT: 32 way adjustable Megan Racing Street Coilovers with 10KG Tanabe Springs
    - REAR: Megan Racing lowering springs with some blue shocks, don't know if they're tokicos or short stroke, no name or brand on it. Cut 3 coils? I don't remember.
    - T3 panhard
    - T3 RCAs
    - 15x7 0 et. Enkei 92, originally black, stripped and repainted gold, polished lips.
    -FRONT: Continental 195/45R15
-REAR: Bridgestone Potenza S-03 195/50R15 and Falken Ziex ZE-512 195/50R15

    EXTERIOR/INTERIOR:
    - Thule Roof Rack with 2 Thule bike racks and Thule fairing
    - 6k HIDs
    - Audi fog lights
    - 1980s Supra Seats, with air pump on driver seat
    - 330mm jdm wood grain steering wheel
    - Ghetto rolled and slightly pulled fenders
    - Hella super horns

    EXTRAS:
    - Spare T50 transmission
    - Original passenger seat

As you can tell this car has a lot of potential, with the right amount of money and know-how everything can easily be fixed. All the problems are minor, except if you decide to swap the transmission with the extra T50 that I'm throwing in. This is my DD, there really is not anything wrong with it. I'm just looking for something modern, fuel injected, faster and just as clean. I'm not really in a rush to sell, I want this car to go the next right owner.

All the work, parts, and accessories I've done to it totals to $2,275. I think the car alone is with $1,500 - $2,000 just cause its really clean and well maintained, but because of the salvaged title and smog issues, ill make the price obo.

I either want to sell this thing for $4,000 obo or trade with cash on either end for a manual s13, e30, or e36. If you don't like the price please keep comments to yourself. Dont PM me trying to change my mind. Its MY car not yours and I'm in no rush to sell. Don't lowball or offer me some dumb trade.

Call or text me if you're interested, but don't ask me stupid questions or try to negotiate with me. if you're serious come down and see the car. I''m located in Thousand Oaks, CA but am always in the Winnetka/Woodland Hills. 805 208 553five

454 was not available in 69 (other than the Vette). Also was a big dog in comparison to the 402 (yes in 68< all 396 were actually 402CID) but GM not wanting to rock the boat kept the 396 badgeing on the F body, A body, X body, and B body. Along with the GMT line

LS6/LS7 454's were only available for 70-72, but while the 454 was still offered for a few more years they were so badly choked out be the EPA that they really were worth more as boat anchors in stock format.

I would gladly take a 396/402 over a 454 any day of the week over a old school 454 or old 455rocket. And I have have several towing rigs with Gen2/Gen3 BBC 454's and loved them. Then I went Diesel ;) But really if you want a old School BBC 427 is the only way to go period If you can find one
