I bought the vehicle from a lady politician about 2 hours away who ordered this car from a dealer in Bloomington, IN to her specs (hence the rear side impact airbags). The house had a 4 car garage containing this GTI, a new Jag and a new Mark 6 GTI that was also custom ordered and that they took delivery of a few weeks prior and which was the reason for selling the Mark 5.
The daily drivers (some minivan) were parked outside in front of the garage for daily driver duties. Needless to say the car was maintained properly and well taken care off. If there was ever a question of something not working properly, close by ECS Tuning was consulted and the dealer was given instructions of what should be done and how per orders of ECS.
The vehicle was driven at an average of 26.5 mpg / 30 mph over the last 2278 miles / 75 h 15 min. every fuel stop is documented. only premium fuel at Shell or BP.
I would never consider buying a vehicle from a dealer since i would never know of any of the vehicle history and would never be provided with any documentation. Hence I took the time to find this private party vehicle that was treated correctly and make the extra effort of getting in a plane to pick the vehicle up in person after checking it out. There are of course also the obvious incentives of not paying any non-sense dealer or documentation fees, which in most cases are more expensive than a flight (it definitely was for me), and the possibility of saving some taxes when doing a cash transaction.
The vehicle is only for sale because I want something a bit more exclusive (read expensive) in my stable and the financial plan in my operation allows for only a limited amount of $ being tied into the capital asset line item vehicles. So i downsize a daily driver to upgrade one of the other toys :-)
KBB excellent private party value is $19830 as of 6-7-2011.
the vehicle cost $28.199 new, has 100% history and is in excellent condition
so my asking price for this vehicle is $17.429 with NO sets of wheels and tires.
location 43221 Columbus, OH.
if you are interested in the vehicle, a test drive or any additional information - please contact me anytime.
However, in order to ensure an efficient communication I would request that you first
- ensure you have your finances in order
- verify that your wife / mother / bank is ok with you potentially purchasing this vehicle.
I have sold several cars here over the years, can provide several hundred postive eGay feedbacks and will provide references upon request.
In my search for other toys i recently bought a pack of carfax reports and had one left over, so i have a flawless carfax report as well which i can send via email.
These are honest pictures taken with an old point and shoot camera. I realize that most guys here are photogs with crazy photo skills which tends to make the cars look like a million bucks.
Not in my case - the pics were taken yesterday without spending the time to clean and detail the car first - sorry !
