Feeler: FSBlack 1988 BMW 325is, red interior

    Hey all,

I'm considering selling my car within about a month/month and a half as I plan on hopping into a ZHP. Please do not hate me. I'm pretty wary of feeler threads for some reason, but I'd just like to throw the word out there and maybe someone might bite later on. I am in Rockville, MD which is in the greater DC area.

So, to the car! As mentioned in the thread title, this is an '88 325is without diving boards. So it has '89 style bumpers. I've had the car since summer 2004. I bought it from someone who had restored a fair amount of it at Flow BMW in Wilson, NC. The head was rebuilt and had 18K miles on it when I bought it. The car had 218K on the clock when I bought it. It also had Millie Miglia 17's on it when I bought it. It now has bottlecaps.

I'm real strict on maintenance. Oil has been changed every 3K miles/3 months with Castrol GTX 20W-50. Nothing else. I've always used a Bosch oil filter. I've always kept the valves in check.

The bad (some are fairly minor):

She leaks oil. Nothing serious, but you need to be aware of this. Fairly sure it's a front seal.

    Small PS hose leak.

Shifter is sloppy (it's in the video).

Newly discovered (as in today) crack on the dash : /

Some very small rips on the driver's seat.

Parking brake needs to be adjusted or just redone.

Resistor for the blower motor is toast.

It has a new hood as of 9/2010 and has been in one accident where someone hit me from behind. The insurance company had to total it, but it was rebuilt. It was not that bad as you think.

Passenger seat will not fold forward.

    It's missing the knee bolster.

    Light switch is finicky.

The odometer stopped at 235,657 in 2007. The car has about 250-260K estimated, as I did not drive it for an entire year.

Speedometer works when it feels like it.

    The good:

I just changed the oil as of the beginning of June.

The interior is red and pretty unmolested.

The paint is nice and tidy aside from a few marks and one small dent on the rear passenger quarter panel. There might be a few bird marks here and there.

Water pump, timing belt, tensioner are all about 2.5 years old.

    The fuel pump is new.

The fuel pump and main relays are new.

The tires are about a year old.

The gearbox and differential fluids are about a quarter of a year old.

Suspension is still in good shape.

    Starts every time without question.

Drives great and still turns heads.

Clutch and it's required components are about 3 years old.

That's about all I can think of right now. I've posted a video, as my camera is busted and I can't figure out how to get my iPhone's pictures off the phone and onto my computer. Apple is weird like that.

    So, I'm thinkin' $4,500?

Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
    Mark: "You never will."

Also I've thought about the price and was thinking $3,800 is way more reasonable. Keep in mind I will not be selling for about a month as I need another car first.
