WTB: e46 xit or legacy gt wagon (slighty OT, sorry)

Hey guys, have been absent for a while, but yeah...moving to Eugene, OR for work and need a commuter car. My vert won't be put through that and will snooze in the garage. I know it's a long shot for either car here, but I'm just not having any luck. I've posted wtb's on bimmerforums, e6fanatics, legacygt...nothing.

In a perfect world, I'd love an white with black interior, 5 speed touring/wagon. Clearly, I'll never find such a thing and have to settle.

So with that said, looking for:

    e46 325xit (will look at exceptional non-tourings)
    #1: White, #2: Silver, #3: other? exterior
Black interior mandatory (or a red swap in!)
    Prefer 5spd, auto considered.

    or

2005 Subaru Legacy GT Wagon (or spec B)
    #1: White #2: Silver/Grey #3: Dark Blue
black interior mandatory (unless spec b)
    limited preferred
    5 spd mandatory

I would prefer to find a car locally (CA, OR, WA) but will travel and/or ship the right car. I'm open to your suggestions. The right car is worth the uncertainty and extra work for me.

Maintenance history is a huge plus of course, as are lots of pics.

Buying in the next 30 days, just looking for the right vehicle.

As for modifications...I'm open within reason. It will depend on the car.

Budget is...unimportant and dependent on the vehicle. Have an white/black 5 spd that you don't really want to sell? Give me a crazy price...who knows.

    Thanks for any suggestions/help/leads R3V.

I saw that car when you posted it originally, it looks very clean and is a nice pick-up for the right buyer. I'm really, really partial to the black interior, however if the mileage were half that I'd simply buy it and do a swap.

I'm going to be putting 40k/yr on the car, so in two short years it would be up over 200k. I'm really hoping to keep the car for 3 years and sell with under 200k on the odometer.

I found an 03 silver/black 5 spd with similar miles close to me for the same price, but I would trust yours more because of it's known history.

Good luck with your sale, and if it gets to the point where you really need to dump it and would take a large chunk off your sale let me know. if I'm still looking at that point I'll give it some thought

Cool, not going down on the price in the near future but I'll keep you in mind if he needs to "dump it." It sounds like you are shopping for a price more than shopping for a car. A black interior, manual trans wagon with less miles for less money isn't going to happen.

Not shopping for price at all, really. The price I'm willing to spend is just going to drop as the specs get further from what I'm looking for, know what I mean? At some point the sheer value of it will overcome the stuff I don't want on it. I'd pay 18k for a white/black 5spd with 60k on it.

I've got a very nice 05' LGT limited wagon. Royal blue / black leather, low milage 52k, super fast stage 3 car. However it's a auto.

Sounds like a nice car! Need something 5 speed with little to no modifications on the subaru though :( I may have found an 06 spec b, we'll see.
