I have a 1988 325i convertible for sale.
It is a southern car and has never seen snow or salt.
I purchased it from a BMW tech in Kansas City and he purchased it from a woman in South Carolina.
It has approx 170k on it (odo gears stripped and stuck at 162k)
It is alpine white with cardinal red interior. The seats have been re done before I bought the car.
All maintenance is up to date.
New right front ABS sensor, new bellows boot, new hood release cable, new hood lift struts, new struts on convertible top lid, new drive shaft center support bearing.
Valve adjustment and new valve cover gasket done last fall.
Timing belt service done last fall and the car has been driven only a few hundred miles since then.
Graf brand water pump, new tensioner and belt installed in October 2010.
The car isn't perfect but is a good example of a rust free e30 convertible.
I had the car stored in my heated garage all winter.
It has not seen any rain or snow since I've owned it.
It hasn't even been wet, other than when I've cleaned it a little. I didn't even spray the whole car when I did that.
You know that rust free e30's in the midwest are very rare! Especially alpine/cardinal.
I'm happy to take more pics, just let me know what you'd like to see.
