1987 324td Turbo Diesel swap car

I've decided to sell my diesel car, too many projects right now. This is an '87 325is with an engine swapped in from a 524td. End result is a very rare turbo diesel e30.

Swap was done by a professional mechanic and is pretty much complete minus the exhaust. It does have the downpipe to work from but nothing from there back. The fuel distributor has a leak so it does leak diesel when running. That and the exhaust would need to be fixed before driving it.

Interior is blue with sport seats. It's all in good shape except the seats are pretty dry and there is a hole in the driver's left thigh bolster. Dash is cracked and knee bolster is missing.

The exterior is pretty good and straight but the sunroof panel is toast, I do have a bronzit one I'll include with the car and may go ahead and install if I have time.

Front rotors are ATE slots. Car has 16" ASA JS1 wheels in great shape with center caps and good tires. Has 3.73 LSD diff.

This can be a really neat and rare car for someone who wants to put in a little work to finish it up. Definate conversation piece and probably the only diesel e30 you will see. Could also be a good bio-diesel car or run it on cooking oil.

    Looking for $1900 obo

Here's a vid of it running. Lot of noise since it doesn't have the exhaust on it.

Very cool man! I thought about doing this before, but you've beaten me to the punch. Awesome and good luck with your sale!

Of course, they sold the 324td in Europe.

So what is the benefit of swapping in a td motor into an E30? Other than the "cool" factor that is. Cooking oil would be a cool reason if you can get it for free at McD's or something. But does it get amazing gas mileage like newer turbo diesel cars?

I was able to ride in a 324td touring in Latvia. The dude couldn't figure out why I thought his diesel e30 was so awesome. To them they're common and dirty. Cool car bud.

                        Questions - Very Interested.

1 - Exhaust - Could something be worked out so this was 'fixed' before I had to drive it home?

2 - Leak - Again could something be worked out so this was fixed before I would purchase/drive home?

3 - Reliability - How long has this been done? Taken any trips in it?

I think the car is sold. I'll post more later either way.

Wish I had money or something to trade you, would be cool to throw some plastic bumpers on it, lower it, and toss in a bigger turbo :)

Hope someone jumped on this. I was going back and forth about having 3 cars but if this had been one of my cars it would not have been a tough choice. A pickup (For utility), a vert (Because well its a vert) and a diesel e30 (Great daily).
