BOught it two years for $400. was Originally an auto.
I have a 1985 325e. M50 Swapped. Shouldn't have put money into motor, SHould have spent it on a clean shell to start over with.
The Good-
-M50TU Swapped out of a 93 525I, 170k On motor. Pulls hard. runs well.
-Getrag 260 With 140K Shifts nice
-two new front Cooper tires
-Lowered on Vogtlands and KYBs
-All New brakes. ATE Pads/ Brembo slotted in the front. And Raysbestos pads and Brembo Blanks in the rear
-14"Weaves
-brand new in tank fuel pump installed in June. Whole hanger and pump assembly.
-Kenwood Deck installed. Cost $110 originally.
-Comes with two good snow tires on Bottlecaps
-has a limited slip diff. Don't know the ratio / Tag is too beat up.
-Will come with rear plastic bumper, and repainted Front late model Valence.
The Bad-
- Front Passenger Jacking point Rotted out, Some rust under rear seat (Very small) , Has firewall rust VERY similar to this http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=225093
-Rear main seal leaks, new one included in sale.
-Needs 02 Sensor bung welded into current exhaust system.
-Ebrake No worky. Needs new cables, and a new backing plate in the driver rear+the components. I tried using it, but car was an auto and it never got touched in the 300k miles, so i used it and it blew up :/
-when you have 4 people in the car, the passenger rear cv joint rubs on the spring.
-Dash Cracked (Mint one may be included in sale)
-driver REAR window doesnt work.
-Front driver seat has small rip . Rest of seats are mint.
-Needs rear tires, and rear subframe correction kit. A lot of camber right now. Rear tires are camber worn, no belts showing, but their bald on the inside
-Needs driver side Kick panel speaker.
-Driver side Fender and Door arnt the original. Original ones were beat up, so I replaced them off a car that i THOUGHT was Zinno, but the car i took them from had a crappy respray, so they don't match really unless you buff the car.
-the car has hail damage. Very apparent on hood and roof. Tiny little dings.
-Odo broke at 232k. I assume it has well over 300k now.
This car needs a lot of little things, and would be best parted out. and the very healthy drivetrain put into another car. I am in no rush to sell. I love this car dearly. But its life is coming to an end. It has over 300K and 26 New england winters put under her belt.
This brings me to my second option:
Im ether going to buy a Shell, or if the car sells buy an entirely new E30 and start over. I have been looking for a shell, but nothing has been around lately.
shell must be (Or meet most these requirements LMK what you have)
-RED (Henna would be lovely!)
-2 Door, 4 doors are ok
-between 84-87...yes Im one of the few people who LOVES early models.
-$1500 or under. Its gonna take me awhile to save. I expect sometime around spring.
-LITTLE TO NO RUST

This is what a good buff does. This was also shortly after springs are installed, and M50 Swap. Car sits much lower now.
