    FS: NoVA - '91 318is, 5sp, 4.10lsd. $2,300.

    1991 BMW 318is
    162,8xx miles
    5-speed manual transmission
Limited Slip Differential with 4.10 gear ratio
    Alpinweiss II exterior /Black interior
    Original engine/transmission/body panels

Up for sale is my BMW e30 318is which I bought back in 2008 with a leaking head gasket from a fellow BMW e30 enthusiast who had too many cars.

The car has been garage kept during my ownership. The only time I drove it was around my neighborhood on dry days, so I think I put less than 500 miles. Therefore, many parts that I have replaced are still considered "new" and I have receipts to prove it (plus I have a folder full of receipts from the previous owners).

Interior in this car is amazing!! Dash has only two tiny cracks, hard to notice. Seats are in great shape, driver's side bolster had a rip but it was repaired by the previous owner. Never smoked in. All electronics work. Also car comes with OEM stereo with anti-theft code and premium speakers, and working power antenna. Working manual sunroof. Heat blows hot, A/C blows cool -- might need a recharge.

Exterior is in decent shape, could use TLC. Car comes with full shadow line trim and IS trunk spoiler. I also have a Volvo lip and fog lights to add to the front valence (currently not on the car). The front fenders could be replaced (I have two good fenders that I may include with the sale; one fender is brand new in a box).

The good, this car has many new parts:
    - New clutch
    - New radiator
    - New intake boot and vacuum lines
    - New brake rotors and pads
    - New thermostat (88C)
    - New temperature switch (88C)
    - New larger battery (from e32/e34 BMW)
    - New fuel filter and rubber fuel lines
    - New exterior light bulbs
    - New spark plugs
    - Replaced the head gasket and all engine gaskets
    - Head/cams/valves were checked at a certified BMW shop
    - Coolant and brake fluids were flushed
    - Replaced the clutch fan with an e36 m44 electric fan
    - Successfully removed all unnecessary vacuum lines under the intake ("Mess Under the Intake" mod)
    - Repaired major rust issues with e30's (floors, battery trunk tray, rear valence, and rear license plate lights area)
    - And many more things to list.

The bad, this car is a 21-year-old car which has it flaws:
    - Undercarriage has surface rust
    - Paint could use a refresh/touch up/respray
    - Few rust issues: fenders and driver's door bottoms
    - Sounds like there might be an exhaust leak
    - Might need a temperature sensor for the cluster gauge (needle dances between 1/2 and 3/4 sometimes); Or it could use some more bleeding, m42 engines are notorious for this issue.

This car needs TLC and finishing touches to make it a great daily driver or project car. M42 engine pulls hard with no hesitation, transmission shifts smooth and new clutch makes it feel even smoother, LSD locks with no problem. The car has never been in an accident, straight body. I have clean VA title on hand.

Asking price is $2,300. Please do not PM me lowball offers, I will ignore them.
Car is located in Fairfax Station, VA (Northern Virginia).

Ah you're killing me! I wish I had room at my place to give this car a home. I think this will sell quick.

As for the 'dancing' temp gauge that's most likely the sensor needs to be replaced. I had the same issue with my E30 and replacing the sensor fixed it. A $10 fix.

Thanks kts. If I get a break, I might look into replacing the sensor, I just have been swapmed with work and personal problems.

Light grey-ish or tan-ish color. Not exactly sure.
