Selling my Calypso. This was originally going to be my Spec E30 car but I picked up one that was finished and have been using this as my daily driver. Pretty car with recent paint but the SE30 is going to get all my E30 love now!
Being focused on a track build, I did a TON to it. The whole motor was gone through and over, all hoses were replaced, new hoses, new thermostat, radiator was flushed, new eccentrics on the valve adjusters, recent valve adjustment. The head had a busted rocker arm so there's a new freshened head on there with a new head gasket. Recent timing belt / water bump and oil pan gasket. This is the strongest stock M20 I've felt--most people that get in the car are amazed how strong it is.
The whole suspension was gone over: new Bilstein Sports, E30 M3 springs, new bushings, new control arms. Basketweaves fitted with new Sumitomo HTR A/S rubber. With clean caps! I can also include a set of D-Force 15" wheels with Star Specs (~60%) for $500.
I fitted a JVC head unit with new front speakers. MP3 cds and HD radio is the shit!
Chassis is automatic but I swapped a low-mile 5-speed in there. It feels like a new car, it almost feels like it still needs some miles to break in! I'm going to miss this drivetrain. Fresh synth diff fluid.
Last but not least: FRESH PAINT JOB! Calypso paint never seems to last so I had the whole thing redone. New IS lip too with fresh clips. Looks cherry, people stop me in the street and offer to buy the car, no joke.
The bad: at some point the sunroof leaked so the headliner is gross. I put in a new sunroof gasket but now the motor isn't strong enough to open it. I have a new one that I was going to swap in when the headliner was redone but I never go around to it. Comfort seats, and they're imperfect, though not split. Dash is cracked, haven't cared to replace it.
