price feeler: 1991 318i slicktop s50 new paint

i'm putting this feeler up here because i just have too many cars right now. i have no idea where to price the car, so i figured i'd turn to R3v for some help

    1991 318i slicktop
unknown miles on it. somewhere in the 170k range
texas car with no rust on it

i bought the car from a friend who had painted over the fading factory paint with a rattle can. I stripped the car down of all the exterior trim including the windows and dropped it off at the paint shop. thats where it sits right now.

when it gets back i will be installing a rebuilt (fresh rings, bearings and gaskets top to bottom) S50, turner shorty headers, UUC flywheel, bilstiens, H&R sport springs, stainless brake lines and a leather interior in the car. the rear seats have headrests and fold down arm rest. the fronts will be leather sport seats.

tons of mods and new parts will be installed, but after i get it done, I'll want to sell it to make room for my e36 V8 swap project.

so, any ideas where to start on the price with a fresh S50, new paint and all new suspension under the car?

color will be the original color of sterling silver metallic

let me get it finished up and i'll post some pictures. should have it back from paint the end of next week.

I told the guy at the paint shop to take his time and make it perfect. I was not in a rush on it at all. I said "i'd rather it take you 2 months and be perfect than 2 weeks and it be 95%"

he called me friday and said its getting sprayed this week, then about a week of post paint work (wet sanding, buffing etc) before it will be ready to pick up.

here it is as i was stripping it down. i pulled the fenders off, the hood, everything except the doors.

I even pulled the motor out. when it gets back it will get the swap done and be ready to sell.

I'd be interested at 10K plus or minus if it has rebuilt air conditioning, meaning all new o-rings at every joint, dryer, and compressor, the new engine runs perfectly with no detonation, overheating, or "needs a tune up" issues, and depending on the overall build quality. Is the S50 rebuild more or less stock? What about engine management? Slick top or sunroof?

One good way to value E30 swap cars is to list it on Ebay with lots of pics and detail, and set a high reserve. The high bid can give you a feel for market value.

I don't follow these threads, so you might want to PM me when the car is ready for sale. Thanks and good luck with your build/sale.

running a 413 ECU with a turner chip in it.
everything will be new on the s50 even the vanos will be rebuilt
                    stock rebuild on it.

i own a shop that builds race cars, so this is one of 4 s50's i am building right now.

he ac was working and i pulled the compressor back on it and never opened the sealed system.
its a slick top sedan as per the thread title.....

still waiting on teh paint shop to finish it. i have the motor put together now, just need to pull the tranny out of my e36 m3 to mate to it.

i'd say by the end of the month i should have it significantly put together as long as i finish up these 2 porsche race cars this week.
