Please read the whole thing.
Alright, Here's the scoop guys. The plan is to buy an E30 down in the cali land. Late model only. In preferential order, most wanted starting first, I'm looking for: 325is, 318is, 325i, 318i, 325/318iC. I really don't want a convertible.
NO RUST is a must!
Straight body is a must!
Paint, obviously preferred to be better, but will not want something terribly faded.
Clean bronzit's apply. I like a good clean bronzit car. But it of course is NOT limited to bronzit.
Obviously running and driving. I would prefer it to make it back to WI under it's own power.
Does not need to be stock. I'll entertain swapped cars, but that will generally be out of my budget.
Coming down early June to pick up the car. I have a friend down there that would take care of test driving, purchasing, and holding on to it until I get down there.
I have set aside 3k for the car. 1k slush fund, and 2k for flight, hotel, food, gas to get it back to WI. I have this amount covered. Obviously the lower price of the car, the better. A general good example of an E30.
The plan is to be arriving in early June (After June 2nd). Picking up the car. And setting back to WI taking Route 66, and filming the whole journey on the gopros and contours, and I'll probably be picking up a T2i for other video shots and pictures too. It's a celebration for a combination of many things. Graduating, surviving, being with my significant other for 5 years through many things, saving up for this for nearly 3 years on my meager at best 14k a year income without a job while going to school, and quite frankly I haven't had an enjoyable vacation or solid week of relaxing (Especially extended relaxing drive) in nearly 10 years.
This is hopefully going to be an awesome trip, but quite frankly I don't trust C-list people being so far away. So I beckon you, R3v, to help a guy out and help make what will be an amazing trip, to make an amazing video with the woman. Hopefully stopping to see many an E30 owner on the way.
Let me know what you have. I have just under 3 months to find the right car.
