1989 325iX for sale -now with pics-

    1989
    Alpine
    4-door
    Auto

    new parts:
    battery
    t-belt
    water pump
    valve cover gasket
    gas tank
rear hard and soft brake lines
    rear guibo
    rear diff fluid
    trans fluid and filter
    air flow meter
    spark plugs
    plug wires
    crank sensor
shifter boot from a manual (custom)

    The good:
not as rusty as it should be
    smooth, crack-free dash
Bottlecaps (I'm keeping the weaves now)
incomplete front valance with nice working fogs, but no lip
    unchipped ecu

    The bad:
rust-passenger fender bottom small to medium sized rust holes, when trunk is open the space above the trunk button has a few holes (sanded and primed), spots at bottoms of all doors sanded, primed, and painted (undetectable from 20 feet), rear valence cracked both sides in corners, front valence tiny pea-sized hole on the driver side. The car has been in TN since 2004 (no salty roads).
needs a steering rack, this one leaks out in a couple weeks
speedo no worky, stopped about 20000 miles ago at 186xxx
driver seat butt repaired with black gaffer's tape, looks decent though
driver seat butt heater doesn't work, but the driver back and whole passenger side do
    Idle not perfect
needs front cv boots, joints still fine

That is all. If I missed anything, let me know.
    $2750 obo

    I also have a 90 4 door 5-speed bronzit. $1600 Runs GREAT. Looks meh.

WTT both for a convertible 5-speed. In nice-ish shape.

You might want to post pictures in the advertisement and elaborate on "rust" a little bit. I wouldn't be interested in an iX for another couple of months, just trying to give you some feedback. GLWS.

I bought a 1990 5-speed 4-door bronzitbeige, no longer for trade, for sale only. I know, I know, but I'm one of those guys that thinks bronzit looks really good when it's in good shape.

Took 4 months to sell at $2700?
Wow, even with tons of work done,
you really can't even give these E30's away, huh?

I a really hesitating on buying an E30 now.

Sold to me :D Sorry for the bump, but I just found it odd I found this thread through search being brand new to R3V.

The car is still running great. An issue that came up is that the roughness at idle has now creeped up to ~1500k RPM [hesitation upon giving it gas] and it is also hesitating at WOT above ~5500k RPM. It did throw a CEL at one point in time, which pointed to a vac leak, but I have yet had time to sit down and take her apart. Just went back to college and my electrical engineering major is kicking my ass.

I had a hell of a time getting the transmission right. It had a leak from the lower AT cooling pipe going into the radiator, which I fixed, but I could not for the life of me get the tranny fluid level spot on.

The only real concern to me at the current moment is the coolant temp rising at idle. I've bled the coolant system, and plan to install my old E36 clutch/fan setup into the ix. I don't believe this will work, however, as when you are driving often times the coolant temp is BELOW the 12 o'clock level, and on long highway drives it climbs to 3/4 temp level.

Sorry for the rambling, but overall I'm very happy with the car. Ether-D you were an amazingly nice person to deal with and gave me a great deal. Loved the drive out there as well. :P
