I'm a new member here but being a member of S14.net and the E30 M3 for a long time.... Posted this on s14.net a while ago but thought maybe someone in the bigger E30 community might be interested too... I guess some people here know me because of my original Sport Evolution E30 M3 in SoCal...
For sale is this rolling shell I was planning to finish as a race car but never did...
The chassis is an '89 with around 82K miles. It was completely strip down in 2007-2008 and repainted in white with red interior like the 1990 DTM cars. My intention was to put the ///M stripes and decals but didn't find the time to rebuild it as a proper track car. I have pictures of the strip down / repaint process if you want to take a look at the details.
The good:
- Stripped down to the metal and repainted in white/red.
- Rust repaired in the lower windshield frame, right rear quarter
panel, and right lower door frame (where side skirt attaches).
- Ground Control coil over suspension including camber plates / Koni SA shocks
- Rear adjustable camber/toe kit from Ireland Engineering.
- Sparco Evo race bucket/seat and stock passenger seat included.
- Engine bay repainted in red
- Checked on car bench to make sure all chassis measurements were good so car is straight and true.
- Sunroof mechanism/tray removed
- New windshield
- Bolted on roll bar, ie, can be removed.
- The following parts mechanical and interior/exterior parts included: ABS unit, pedals, moldings, door panels, front grills, all wiring harness with fuse box, all lighting, side skirts, dashboard, instrument cluster, etc, etc. I have two big boxes full of chassis parts including interior and exterior plastic parts/covers, etc, etc.
The not so good:
- No cage, if planned for racing will need a real cage, not a roll bar.
- No front bumper.
- All mechanical and exterior/interior cosmetic parts mentioned above are in boxes not installed on the car.
- right rear side window cracked. Replacement side windows will be included in the sale.
- Scratch on lower rear edge of left front fender and lower front edge of left quarter panel. Damage happened during transport to California.
- interior sound deadening material not removed, if planned for racing.
Price: $7,000 without the Ground Control suspension, $8,000 with it. The suspension was barely used and new cost around $2,000 including the camber plates. I'm willing to hear reasonable offers. Clean no-op California title. Car has no engine, but transmission will be included if buyers agrees to pay asking price. Car does includes driveshaft and differential. If buyers wants to get it without the GC suspension, I will need a stock suspension to swap it, even if worn out.
The car rolls, steers and the hand brake works, no regular brakes though, but the calipers on all four wheels are installed. All other brake parts including brake booster in a box.
Car is located in Valencia/Santa Clarita 91354. Willing to arrange shipping at buyers expense.
