No, I mean, I want to be inside it. I can feel it....... in my loins.

But alas, it's the car I want.... not the car I need.

            awesome

been out of the e30 game for 5 years (modded 76' 2002 and a 72' 350sl now occupy the stables) but this caught my eye enough to post. I spent 10 loving years with my e30, and i did all the same cosmetic mods (less then e30 m3 hubs, which i always lusted for). This car is the perfect example of clean modding without getting to euro or DTM. Love this car in every way, with body and paint work and an m50 swap it would be my perfect e30.

2nd. I'm still in the E30 game, and would 100% buy this car if i had the room to justify another one. Has everything I would've done to it.

After all that's been said about this car in the past few weeks, on my way home from work today I took a little detour towards the river to check out Drew's car. As I posted earlier, originally it was for my own curiosity...but just as the original post (and subsequent posts) show, Drew is a stand-up, honest guy and I can say I'm glad to have met such an enthusiast and made a new friend.

My thoughts/comments/opinions of the car are as follows:

First, if I were currently shopping for an e30 this is the one I would buy. I believe, hands down, it is worth every penny of Drew's asking price. Everything has been done to the car that you would want upgrade. E30 M3 5-lug, supersprint exhaust, M-tech 1 wing, iS skirts, small diameter M-tech 1 wheel, etc. The list goes on and is all detailed in the OP. Take a moment and add up those items if you were to buy them in the Parts FS forum.

Next, the front seats are mint. The rears are in very nice shape as well. The dash has a few cracks, but is very presentable. The only thing I would do to the interior would be to get black kick panel speaker covers and dye the carpet.

There are a few dings and the paint is a little faded...all of which you can see in the pictures. Delphin is an interesting color but the pictures depict the car fairly well. I would say it definitely looks better in person. And while there may have been a (larger than expected) rust spot, as you can see it has been repaired...and after a quick glance [read: not laying in the street ruining my work clothes], it looks to have been repaired properly. This car has less rust than a lot of the e30's on the board, (and the area), I can guarantee that. The rear valence spot under the tow hook has not been repaired, but I think 90% of all e30s have the same affliction...I know mine does.

The car drives as good as it looks. The suspension is tight and the car feels great. There were some rattles over the less-than-pleasant Jersey City roadways, very similar to my car without anti-rattle clips in the calipers. But on smooth roadways the car felt great.

The car idles rock steady, not too high and no surges. Did I mention it sounds amazing with the Supersprint? We took it out for about 20 minutes around town and got to a location where we could get it up into the 3-4k RPM range where the "knock" is. In my opinion, the word "knock" is rather strong choice of description for the noise. I would call it more of a tapping or ticking noise. I obviously cannot say for sure what it was or may be without diving further into it. As you all know, 200k is just breaking in an M20, and the car pulls pretty well in my opinion...but then again I'm used to an M42 car.

All-said-and-done I believe this is a VERY solid car and like I said I would not hesitate to buy if I were in the market. The car is an absolutely great candidate for a swap with all the upgrades already done to it. I know Drew is going to regret selling the car because it is tough to put together such a nice example these days.

Drew, good luck with the sale, and best of luck to whoever buys the car.

                    EDIT: Typos.
