Thanks! :D But actually I do own an M3 and also happen to own 3 sets of RS's. :D

Your final offset using spacers is one thing while the wheels actual offset is another entirely and affects the width of the lips. Which is more to the point of what i was referring to. Basically meaning your wheels look like FWD or AWD wheels.....which in fact they are.
    Thanks for playing though.

I've definitely built more than a 3 sets of RS's including the one's I'm rebuilding for the black car in my sig right now. But if you're reffering to the ones in your sig on your M3 than I'll take just the current set of mine over all 3 of yours.

As far as you ill-timed joke, fwd/awd/rwd doesn't really make a difference. I don't think my wheels care if they're on a Lexis or my M3. If you wanted you could swap the wheel face of the LM's to behind the lip face and add .5in of lip to them. Then you could get new adapters built, to pull them into the wheel well some more and have an even more stepped lip.

e30 M3's, as well as almost every BMW ever built, look better with staggered lips. The only LM's built specifically for this car were 17x8 with uniformed 1in lips all the way around.... not very attractive. If you want to run 17in LM's you need to find some uber rare combo's that are usually only found over seas, or you can get creative and develop you're own wheels setup as I have... and get the added benefit of not having to many other people with the same setup.

I can see that your comment was just to poke fun at how high my car is, I'm not an idiot.... but to think that you know more about the offset, wheel placement, wheel info and camber on my car is a mistake.

I don't scare easily, I play hard. But thanks for your comments. Good Day.

It can be hard for enthusiasts like us to admit it, but cars, like all material things, will come and go, but the memories you make and the experiences you have, especially at this point in your life, you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Best of luck selling the car, but more importantly have a great trip. I truly hope you walk away from the whole experience with the same reflections that I have. I wish more people our age had the opportunity for something like this. I believe it would go a long way towards the way America in general perceives the world, and how the world perceives America.

It looks like a great car, and I hope it goes to a good home!
That's so great! I've already started traveling and meeting people on the road! It's sad how many people I met that have been traveling for months/years and every American that I met, also on the road, had like 2-3 weeks vacation. Or maybe 2-3 months on their once in a lifetime trip between college and the corporate life.

I'm going to travel for as long as I can stand it. And when I'm tired, I'll just get an apartment, work for a couple months on a beach or in a bar somewhere, then get on the road again!

What lift kit do you have installed?
I'm also guessing its AWD since the offset seems very high on the wheels and you have lots of positive camber.
With all these mods it sounds like a very capable off roader.

sweet rusted hood bro. all of your e30s look like shit.

op: awesome story. while it's hard to imagine my life without my favorite car ever, i understand why one would want to travel around and experience new surroundings...especially on borrowed time.

I've seen this car and can honestly say it's badass with the gold LMs.

Sorry to see you selling her Art but traveling sound like a damn good idea. The little traveling (outside of the US) I've done has shaped who I am no doubt. Good luck to you.

That is a really nice car. Id do dirty unspeakable things to it on a racetrack that you would all hate me for doing. As god intended.

To bad I'm poor, otherwise I'd be driving this thing back with me from my visit there in a few weeks.

I will not keep my corporate job, get a house, a wife, some kids, work my ass off to save some money and retire when I'm to old to really travel and explore this world the way it was meant to! So I'm going to sell everything I own and travel until I'm to tired to walk then work for a couple years until I drop dead. Sounds good to me.

Don't get me wrong, I love this country... did 2 tours in Iraq with the Marine Corps as a Helicopter Machine gunner/Crewchief. Stuff changes your perspective on life homie.

I completely understand where your coming from... and when you have to pay for it and make a life changing decision like this, you will enjoy it even that much more :)
I sold my house, furniture, and all my cars last year to do the exact same thing.... It was worth it all.....now Im ready to do it all again :)

                        AWESOME M3, good luck

I did not plan on getting my current life goal turned on its head just by looking at an M3 for sale.

                            Damn.

It's a clean car, but for real, the underlying story is pretty inspiring.
I'm trying to get a career going and start making money in the corporate environment, that's the aim. Gotta get out of this $11/hr grind. Now thanks to some e30 guys on r3v I'm getting all introspective about what really matters...haha

Maybe one day when I'm burnt out on the corporate job, the daily commute, and just being a cog in the machine I'll clean up and head out.

Good luck with your sale, you'll probably get what it's worth, especially with the back story!

I live down the street from Art. I can vouch for how clean and well done his M3 is when it occasionally ventures out of the garage. For someone who has already traveled the world and wants an M3 give this one a look.

When I got out of the Marine Corps in 2005 I tuned to my wife and said, "lets sell everything we own and travel the world!" She said that there was no way and that she wanted to finish school....

When she graduated, I turned to her again... let's sell everything and move to Australia and travel from there!! I told her so many times about how amazing it was there and how cool, going to Singapore, Seychelles and all these other places in the south pacific and Indo was... She said that it wasn't fair.... that I had already led the corporate life and that she wanted to as well.

I begged and pleaded with her, telling her how mundane and life sucking it is. How you just get into this routine and all you care about is working hard so you could make more money, to buy more shit, and work harder to make more money to buy more shit, and work harder to work harder to work harder to.... waste you life.

Unless you're coming at the world with your passion, something you truly love to do and enjoy doing, you will NEVER find what you're looking for. You're rushing to work for some corporation you they can work you like a dog and you can save up enough to buy a new 335i and barley cover the payments cause you save the rest of your money to buy some cool wheels and coilovers?? Unless you're starting your own business in something that you are truly passionate about, you will always be a slave to some corporation that will pay you just enough to not quit. Then you'll turn around and you're 45 years old, with a wife that's cheating on you cause you don't pay her enough attention, 3 kids, a house in the suburbia town of choice and will have no where to go.

Don't strive to work for a corporation, take chances while you can and hit life with everything you got. Cause once you get sucked in.... it's really hard to get out!

I'm 29 and I've been trying to get out for 3 years, but every time I go to make a move, I drive this car or one of my others, and say... nah, I can't sell it. It's way to much fun. NO MORE.

I'm driving it to Bimmerfest with a HUGE for sale sign and it will be my first step to get me outta this place. Then the Audi, then last will be the 325is.
