    Fs>1976 bmw 2002

Between an e46 motor swap, an e34 motor swap, and a 2002 project i cant prioritize correctly so im putting them all up for sale and whichever one is left over im going to keep. (lets hope its the 2002!)

I bought this about a month or so ago, long story short it was driven from South Carolina all the way to Alabama with no problems whatsoever, and i have driven it every day since.

motor (unknown mileage) starts every time and runs great. The weather here has been cold one day and scolding hot the next, so i have had to re-tune the carbs every so often. When the weather is a steady heat or cold it ran fantastic with no tuning required. It dosnt burn any oil or coolant, it does however leak a bit. It seems to be coming from the oil pan but i have not thoroughly inspected it. I may have to put a quart in a month, not a huge deal. It has a weber 34/36 that i took apart, cleaned well and inspected. Also has a new air cleaner.

Alternator bushings were replaced along with the belt.

The seats are in excellent shape although the rear is a blue and the fronts and door cards are black. the drivers side back bolster has a tear and that is it. the leather is soft with no cracks whatsoever.
it is an original shwarz car that was painted red :x and then back black. There are a few spots of red showing through which leads me to believe the final black spray was cheaply done.

Now lets talk about the rust! It does have a bit of rust, Mainly in the floor pans and spare tire well. the floor pans have a plate tacked in but not fully installed. I haven't had a chance to take the interior out and fully weld it in. there is very little surface rust, a few spots on hood, one 6 inch line under passenger side window. The spare tire well isnt horrible but is rusted. Old fuel tank was rusted out so a new one was installed recently with new fuel delivery parts. There is no rust in the strut towers, frame, or bumper mounting holes.

Suspension is in great shape. no shimmy shakes wobbles bounces or clunks! (did i forget any?) Struts feel firm and not blown.

It will need tires if you want to drive it any distance. They have good tread but are dry rotting and split in places. This is the only rough part of the ride.

The gauge cluster, per previous owner, said it was the wrong cluster so it reads wrong. Speedo does not work, The tach works and is accurate, the gas gauge functions but is not 100% accurate, and the temp gauge is inaccurate, shows you are overheating when you are not.

Things i am planning on fixing before sale:
shifter needs rebuild, bushings are shot and sheet metal is torn in a spot. It is drive able by all means but is very sloppy.
Brake booster is bad, i have the vacuum line plugged right now, it was internally leaking from the brake booster and causing it to run poorly.
The bumpers are in good shape and will be put back on, they were taken off to inspect rust.

    Small exhaust leak up front.

    Asking $2200 may entertain trades.

It should be. Most states are 30 years.

Really? That's weird. Well only one more year for the west coast. You could just put an m20 in it.

This is the one that I posted about a few weeks ago. I could never get in touch with the lady or I would've bought it.

Trade you an e30 vert for it.
I have friends who are EOD bro.

That's awesome. I have friends who make coffee for a living, but you don't see me rocking out a bunch of lattes
