Looks like doug had a loving owner. Not a big fan of the red lining, and hot rod style gauges but the car looks very clean and seems like a legit buy.

Good luck with sale, Doug's worth a bump :)

Sadly I didn't do the paint. But the car was sanded and professionally sprayed, but the idiot owner wanted satin black. Car was never wet sanded to give the shine and instead it was clear Coated over the matte black to give it shine. Paint is basically keeping the car from deteriorating but if I were to keep it I would have it redone in Avis blue or alpine white.
The only thing wrong with the car in my opinion is I don't like the color =P
but as sad as it is the paint is in no means bad condition. I dont even thing theres a chip out of it anywhere. so I was never pushed to have it resprayed.
Original color is black. Car was painted roughly 3 years ago. Painter did a good job just sad the owner wanted this of all things.

Agree with the previous posts about the paint. Car would be nice with a fresh coat of black too.

I'm a bit skeptical of the 32/36 mpg stats though. I've never seen an e30 (m20) get that high, and I drive all of my cars like fuel costs an arm & a leg.

I babied my m20 that was very well maintained and still only got around 25/27 if I was lucky. My s52 gets about 24/27 babied.

When I picked the car up stock from Alabama with the rebuild I averaged about 29 mpg all the way home (this is assuming the OBC is properly running. But with the new exhaust, cold air and the chip the cars mpg has definetly increased. I can snap a picture of the OBC and it's readings but you need to also keep in mind I am a starving art student the treats every gallon of gas like its my child. Hypermiling for the win =]

I'd actually be more interested in the numbers you calculate out after a fill up and your odometer reading. OBCs are known to be innaccurate. They're only good for instantaneous readings.

Like I said, I've done my fair share of fuel efficient driving and the most I saw from a very well maintained m20 was around 27. I'd say you are probably seeing around the same, maybe slightly more, but not 32/36.

Not that I really want to get caught up in the details about this in your FS ad, but these topics interest me and I wanted to bring it up.

I don't really like the look of the guages, butI'm sick of e30 cluster problems how hard was that to do and can I do it with any guages? Basically what am I looking for when I go to buy guages?

Ha, I do this hypermiling thing myself on the road sometimes in the civic. I was really surprised to get 39 mpg once, mixed use of ac (I dont give that up in the summer). If you drive conservatively you can get some amazing results. I didn't know there was an actual name for it.

I don't think higher mph affect your mpg as much as long as you are in a lower rpm range. I've heard that 55mph was what is estimated for mpg, but my results were at much higher speeds, averaging 80mph.

You save more gas being in higher gears faster and going at speeds 70+ on highway I've found. But I'm in neutral on every downhill.

As far as the cluster goes its not hard to do. You need to take the cluster out (easier if you remove the steering wheel) then the clear pannel will slide off. You want to be in a clean static free environment and disassemble the gauges and put your new ones on. Personally I like the original look but my backlighting were to dim to light up the gauges so for safety reasons I needed to stop shifting of the sound of my revs. Takes about an hour max.

                            Gauges are here.

I was thinking these were aftermarket guages, thanks though
