This will be a detailed post. Ive owned several BMW's. And I know how important it is to get all the facts up front. Car is located in Belair Maryland.
-1988 BMW M3
-160k
-Vin: WBSAK0302j2197620
-Exterior Zinno Red
-Interior Tan
I purchased this car about 5 or 6 months ago. When I purchased it, it was in need of some work. I am a BMW technician here in Maryland so I have done some extensive work to the car. I will list the repairs performed, the things it needs, and any issues it has.
Things I have repaired:
-New clutch and flywheel less than 3k ago.
-New control arm bushings
-New Ft bumper Factory Part
-New Rear Spring Perch Pads
-New center support Bearing
-New spark plugs
-New Fuel Filter
-New blower motor resistor
-New ignition cap
-New ignition rotor
-New wire set
-New upper oil pan gasket
-New lower oil pan gasket
-New valve cover gasket
-New oil filter housing gasket
-New gearbox tail shaft seal
-New gearbox selector shaft seal
-New gearbox oil
-New diff oil
I have to look back i'm probably missing something. Haha.
In terms of performance upgrades:
-AC Schnitzer Pedals
-Drilled front and rear rotors
-Bilsteing Sport shocks and struts
-Dinan lowering springs
-Dinan Sway bars
-B and B Triflow Cat Back
-Custom Center test pipe. X pipe still installed
Overall the exterior of the car is still in great shape. When I purchased it I had the front bumper replaced with a factory bumper. Cost me 800 dollars via the dealer. I had the Hood repaired and painted due to dents. So in all the front, and rear bumpers and hood were painted. The paint of the car is still in stellar shape. I would rate it an 8 out of 10. There is no rust on the car at all. I went over it and made sure when I purchased it. Paint is still shinny and vibrant.
The interior is probably a 7 out of 10. The seats are worn but not horribly. Drivers seat has a small tear in the lower seat area. The rear seat has a tear (not a large one) where the stitching comes together in the top center. That's all for tears though. The dash has three cracks in it. And the A-Pillars are starting to crinkle some. I have used a sun shade ever since I have owned the car. The headliner is slightly torn over top of the pass door where the light would be. Both lights are not installed.
In terms of some of the issues the car has. The Drivers door check is broken and needs to be repaired. Doesn't look to be a major issue. The car will need tires soon. There running low on tread. The power steering was removed via previous owner. I have all components except for the pump itself. I wasn't given it. I also have a brand new belt for it. I did install a block of plate so the rack didn't become contaminated. When The bumpers were painted I opted to leave the tape off. I have a brand new roll of black 3m tape that will go with it when it is sold. Also Since they are apparently nla both front bumper marker lights are missing. From what I see you can use two rear ones although they are red instead of yellow. Both front fog lights are cracked they can be found on ebay factory Hellas for about 50 dollars a piece. I replaced the drivers door lock cylinder with one I had from one of my older cars. The ignition key is the same that is matched to the vin. This can be fixed by bypassing the after market alarm box installed under the dash. Once removed you should be able to control all the locks via the drivers tumbler.
The car has a clear title. And I have it in hand. Im selling it due to the fact I already have a turbo e30. And im looking into purchasing a newer vehicle. If you have any questions for me feel free to contact me via my email since I don't always get notifications from the site my email is bmwtch8@hotmail.com
The car is by no means a showroom condition vehicle. But for it being an 1988 its still a great looking car. Drivers great and sound great. Its leak free since I have resealed everything that you can.
Asking price is 12,500
I will post more pics tomorrow
