**UPDATE- Car is back on the market!!
***UPDATE Regrettably, this one has a story. It's why I'm listing it ONLY in R3V right now, nowhere else, because I know this community cares most about the e30.
Bottom line- I've maintained the hell out of this car. But somehow I'm still having problems.
I want to trade this thing for something mechanically reliable, (plus a little cash on my end).
I've got probably $5 grand into this thing- honestly. I just want something I'm not going to have to worry about every month- if I had a garage and time, a full resto would be my project.
My criteria: manual and reliable. Prefer BMWs. I'm not looking to front any more than about $5k from my end.
1984 325e 5spd in excellent condition. The car has 121k miles on the clock. I've owned it for over a year, and have meticulously maintained it as a daily driver. It's a great car.
I have ALL Service receipts back to the original sale in 1983!!
This car has never left the state of Georgia, and until 2011, it had never left Metro Atlanta.
Factory and PO Stuff
- Polaris Silver over Cardinal Red Leather
- RARE BBS Front Air Dam
- Trunk mounted spoiler
- CRACK FREE Dash
- ZERO rust
- Ansa Sport Exhaust with CAT deleted- straight pipe
- Factory Wind Deflector
Interior- 8.5/10, honestly. The only wear is on the driver's side bolster, which hasn't changed since I've owned it- that is it hasn't gotten any worse. I would say this ranks among some of the nicest interior i've had on any of my cars. It's that good.
Exterior- 7.5/10, full disclosure the paint on the roof, hood and driver's side door could use some love- I just wash and wax it to keep it looking its best. There is a very minor scratch on the left side, but aside from that, everything looks damn good from 10 feet.
Mechanical- 8.9/10- this engine still pulls strong and the transmission shifts so smoothly. All the intensive maintenance i've done over the last year have ensured that this car WILL keep running for a long time to come. This is a perfect candidate for those looking to go "e to i"/turbo/stroker or even a swap. I looked into all these- and I like the idea, I may still end up doing one of them if I can't sell.
I'll link a spreadsheet with ALL the maintenance/mods I've done- but off the top of my head, here's what I remember.
FULL Disclosure- ***FIXED*** REPLACED OIL PAN.
Purchased in Oct 2011-
(this is all in addition to regular 3k mile oil changes- in winter I used LiquiMoly 10-40, since then I've moved to Valvoline VR1 20w-50 for the ZDDP content paired with Mobil-1 filters)
- Redline Fluids in the Gearbox and in the Differential (non-LSD)
- OEM brake fluid change, Coolant
- spark plugs
- UUC clutch stop
- IE short throw shift kit
- ZHP Shift Knob
- JC Chip
- H&R Sports on Bilstein Sports
- Lights- Lows are Hella H1 Bi Focals, Highs are Cibie CSRs (VERY RARE), both with Narva RangePower+ bulbs- these lights will blow you away
- Valve Adjustment, Timing Belt, Tensioner, Water Pump, Thermostat- the engine still has the cross-hatching from the factory.
Car will come with an extra set of bottlecaps, original shift knob, plus another e34 style shift knob. i have a full set of seals for timing belt, headgasket. I have a few extra Narva Rangepower bulbs. I also have the OE approved sun visor that clamps on in front of the sunroof. Power sunroof and windows still work great, btw.
Pictures are not great quality- interior looks even better in person.
