For sale is my 1995 Cosmos black M3 coupe 5 speed. It has the OBDI S50 motor. Car has never been overheated, driven hard or tracked. The car has around 178,000 miles on it. I have done a lot of the main maintenance issues and it runs well. The motor is very strong. The car is pretty quick, but also makes a good daily driver. It is a lot of fun. It is originally from New England area so it has spots of rust that have been contained on the body and undercarriage. Nothing horrible. The car has no huge issues, but has little things here and there that could be fixed. This car has a ton of potential and currently has a lot of great modifications.
Clean title, non-smoking owner, BMW enthusiast owner, registration just updated, pass smog within the last year, does not leak or burn oil, A/C blows cold, heater blows hot, heated seats, and sun roof. I have done a lot of big maintenance jobs. They are listed below. The only reason I am selling it is because I need a truck and I already have another fast BMW. Priced to sell, asking $4,500 OBO. I think this is a very good deal for this car.
Modifications
Audio setup:
•Hybrid Audio Technologies Clarus CL6 (6.5 inch 2 way components, $629)
•two Kicker CVR10 subs
•Arc Audio KS 1000.1 amp ($600)
•Jenson Power 760.4 amp
•Panasonic C7413U head unit with ipod adapter in glove box
Motor:
•Conforti carbon fiber 3.5 inch intake
•Euro mass air flow sensor
•21.5lb injectors
•Turner Performance chip (tuned for previous modifications.)
•Eisenmann Sport exhaust
Suspension/wheels/etc:
•Bilstein PSS9 adjustable coilovers
•Aluminum rear shock tower mounts and reinforcement plates
•Urethane suspension bushings
•Breyton Inspiration 17 inch wheels
•Rogue Engineering short shift kit with ZHP knob
Interior:
•New OEM floormats. 12/2012
•New M-Stitch shift boot and e-brake boot
Body/Exterior:
•Umnitza Euro Projector head lamps (ZKW) with city lights with 5k HIDs
•Clear turn indicators
•Blacked out front kidney grills
•Euro taillights
•New OEM M3 rear license plate frame
The Bad
•New England car for the first part of its life. There are some spots of rust on the undercarriage and up around the body, hood and trunk. All of it has been contained and will not spread any further in its lifetime.
•Truck and rear bumper clear coat is chipping in spots. Couple dings and dents here and there.
•Hood has small spot with paint missing that was filled with OEM paint and clear coat. Hood also has a dent in it that could be pulled out.
•Car could use a paint job. Looks good from 6 feet away :)
•Interior door panels are being typical e36 panels. Loose on the door and stretching issome spots. Passenger side is worse than drivers. Could use some help
•side view mirrors faded in some spots
•A few exterior trim clips and trim could be better. Same for interior. Small pieces here and there could use replacing.
• When going very slow and turning, steering has slight thud sound to it. Doesn't affect steering or handling. But it's the next maintenance item i'd look at.
•Front seats have fading on blusters and driver’s seat has tear at the seam on the bottom cushion ( I have the Leatherique dye and refinishing product for this that I would include).
•Rear trunk lock does not work right. Can’t unlock trunk from rear only. Has to be unlocked when other doors are unlocked
•Front bumper cracked in some spots
Maintenance I would do next:
Rebuild VANOS
Refresh front and rear steering components
Both are fine now, but that’s the main things that I’d do next if I was keeping it. I will also give the new owner the Bentley e36 service manual.
Some of the main maintenance done
•Cooling system rebuild –water pump (metal impeller), aluminum thermostat housing, thermostat, both cooling temp sensors in head, coolant level sender and full cooling flush. Fan clutch and mechanical fan. 12/2011
•Brakes – rebuilt all 4 calipers, new rotors, akebono Euro Pro pads, brake fluid flush with ATE super blue racing fluid. 2600 miles ago. 4/2012.
•Fuel – Fuel pump/sender and fuel filter. 4/2012
•Tires – Falken FK452 235/40/17 tires. Less than 3000miles on them. 4/2012.
•A/C –New A/C condenser, dryer, pressure switches and o-rings 4/2012
•o2 Sensor. 5/2012
•Transmission and differential – full transmission fluid and differential fluid flush with Redline fluid. 5/2012
•Guibo within last 10,000 miles
•Oil changes done every 3k miles with synthetic 10W40 or 15w50.

As you can see, $4,500 is a good deal for this :)
