    318is for sale

Hey fellas, long time no see :( Anyhow, I bought this car 3-4yrs ago for my pal's 16yr old son as his first car. My pal was in some financial difficulties, so I figured I'd help out. I figured his son could get into E30's but sadly when it first broke down he just put it aside.

I paid $1400 for this locally, and would like to get the same out of it, even though I've replaced the front right wing, purchased (but not installed) a good looking used steering rack, new intake boot, used sport seats, used open diff, new "i" lip, and 4 new 16" tires.

Car is a slicktop (ie no sunroof) and a few other plus's:

    1) strong motor...according to previous owner an E36 318i motor was installed at some point....i dunno when
    2) no sunroof (well a plus for E30 spec racers
    3) pretty much new tires
    4) Interior is in quite nice condition, besides cracked dash. Rear seat is in great shape, front seats as installed are 4dr fronts in great shape, but I have 2 used sports seats included (driver is a bit rough on the outer bolster)
    5) car starts first turn if the icv is on your side (I just put a new battery on it after 2-3yrs of no starting and it fired right up)
    6) a good looking used steering rack is included (purchased this off a board member yrs ago, just never installed it........pity he screwed me over the left front wing but oh well)

    Car has some issues:

    1) heater core is bad....leaking into the cockpit
    2) some dings here & there (bigg'ish one on the driver door)
    3) back left parking brake is prob fubar
    4) 2 keys needed for car, all doors is one key, ignition is another
    5) icv prob needs replacing
    6) no stereo, not that this bothers me but maybe to others
    7) missing right side shadowline trim (well the front piece only)....i nicked it for my 3.1L stroker E30...sry but I lost mine during a visit to NYC (bastards)
    8) steering rack is a leaking son of a bitch

Tires are Fusion HRI something or others...I also have 4 bottleshits (i think)...but I threw these black 16's on there thinking my pal's son would get some nice cross-spoke 16's in the near future so he'd have some new tires already.

Oh ya, the bonnet is some Honda arctic white colour, not AlpineweiB II, like rest of the car. All in all it would make a great racer, and if ya have some dosh to throw at it a half decent daily getting good gas mileage if ya throw on the new steering rack & get a new ICV. Battery on the car is new but since the local autoshop didn't have the correct bttry it is a slightly more powerful one.

Well that's about it, price is $1400 (same as I paid) and the vehicle is located in Lexington, KY. Probably needs to be hauled off due to the heater core issue, unless you are local.

Thanks for your time fellas, and I have a few more pics available if you are interested.

    Best regards,
    Chris

ps: car is really dirty as it has sit outside in the carpark for the past couple of years since moving here. The roof pic show's where I wiped it down with a wet rag compared to where it hasn't been touched.

pss: I also have some used H&R sport springs that I purchased for this car, but they were never installed. Sry I don't have any dampers.

Wow stranger, long time no doubt! OG for real.

I've been keeping an eye out for a cheap E30 and that certainly meets the profile. I'll have to consider it, but good luck with sale.

even though I've replaced the front right wing
Ha, you might want to clarify you mean fender. I do appreciate those funny little differences in English and English

I'm really curious why there is a vaccum reservoir out of an '80s chevy in the upper right of this pic...

The 318is in North America was only available in 1991 so that's what it should be :D

I knew that and just didn't put two and two together. I'm embarrassed to say I even know what an e30 is.....

                        Rick James S5x swap

This car will be sold soon. At $1,400 I'm surprised it hasn't sold already.

I predict it will end up gutted and swapped and will challenge Rick James for cheap super fast e30 fun.
