For sale I have a 1988 e30 m3 with a dinan supercharged s50 in it, there are 157XXX miles on the chassis and 107XXX miles on the engine. There are many mods done the car and the engine. I need to sell the car to help pay for school, and I need a car that requires less time from. I am located in Hollywood Florida.
***Chasis***
• Car has been repainted in 2010 factory color,
• Lowered with H&R springs and Blistein shocks, they are the street springs so the ride is still fairly comfortable for a lowered car.
• Rims are ASA powder coated black but I sprayed them gold with plastidip, this means the gold paint is removable by taking a pressure washer to it or just peeling it off. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the rims gold so I did this so I wouldn’t ruin the black powder coat.
• Has polly motor mounts, diff mount, and control arm bushings from AKG motor sports, the control arm bushings have not been installed yet.
• Front sub frame was reinforced when the engine swap was done.
• Racing e36 m3 aluminum radiator.
• Replica euro mirrors
• euro smiley ellipsoids headlights.
• Momo racing steering wheel.
• Evo II front racing lip (included in the sale but needs to be repainted).
• Full JL audio sound system with alpina head unit.
• Dual exhaust
• Never used anything but liqui-molly 10-60 oil in it.
• 4 Brand new tires (less than 1,000 miles on them).
• Original bumpers and body panels.
• There are no dents on the body, a few minor scratches that are not noticeable unless you know they are there. The car body is a 9/10.
• German Engineering key fob with keyless entry and window roll down option.
• I was hit once from behind at 5mph and the bumper was repainted and there is a accident in the front listed as minor on the carfax from 1989
• I have a car fax for any one who wants to see the car
***Engine/Drive***
Before any one gets on me for not keeping the s14, I bought the car with an m20 in it and could not afford an s14. My cousin already had the s50 with all the goodies on it so I went a head and put it in the car.
• The engine is a 1995 odb1 s50 with a full dinan supercharger kit, produces 340hp (claimed by Dinan)
• Dinan high flow throttle body,
• stage 2 dinan light weight flywheel/ clutch kit.
• Supercharger was rebuilt 7000 miles ago and the bearings are said to last up to 40,000.
• Engine has a Cometic mls head gasket .098” thick that can take up to 600 hp, so its ready to take some extra power if you would like to upgrade the supercharger pulleys, bearings, and compressor wheel.
• E36 m3 ZF 5 speed transmission.
• Brand new Turner motor sports reinforced drive shaft (less than 5000 miles).
• Replaced center support bearing and flex disk with drive shaft
• With this set up I’ve raced a few of my friends e46 m3’s and I pulled two to three car lengths on each one. The only problem is getting the car to launch from a stand still, all it does is spin the tires.
• When I did the head gasket the cylinder head was in great shape, and the cams looked almost new, a good sign that the engine had been well taken care of before it reached me.
• NKG spark plugs have 7000 miles.
• With a good tune and a water-meth injection system you could get even more out of this engine for a few hundred dollars, or just upgrade the supercharger components. The car runs great mechanically speaking, I’ve never had a problem with the engine.
CONS
The car currently has no power steering, I have the power steering pump mounted but there are no hoses, the car needs a high pressure hose to make it functional, I just never had time to get it done between school and work. I’ve been driving the car ever since the engine swap with no power steering and it is perfectly drivable, you need a little elbow grease parking but otherwise its fine. The A/C system is also not functional, I have a compressor and all the associated parts needed to make it work but it needs modifications in the A/C lines made to make them fit the new compressor location. Also the blower motor just recently went bad. When the previous owner installed the suspension he did not install some washers on the strut and it causes the steering to not center after a turn. This means that say after a left U turn the car will pull slightly to the left and will go back to normal after a bit of driving or by a right turn. It took me a while to figure out what was wrong but it turns out to be about 8 dollars in parts, or something like that, from the dealer, a simple fix.
Asking $22,500 with room for negotiations. I think I could get more for the car if I were to fix the A/C and power steering but I don’t have the time or the money at this point. No low balers or joy rides. I’m not in a rush to sell the car. Willing to ship the car at buyers expense. I have a buddy with an auto transportation company and he would be able to get everything sorted out for you no matter where in the US.
The best way to contact me would be through email and then if you’d like to talk more I will give you my phone number. I don't check the forums to much and I get the emails directly to my phone so Ill be pretty quick to respond. If you PM me Ill do my best to get back to you quickly. My email is strimboli92@gmail.com
