    Feeler: Cheap E30 in/around NC

I have a friend that is looking at purchasing either a running car or shell in the somewhat-near-future. Preferably priced under $1k, but will look at all offers under $2k.

Hopefully to become an auto-x/track rat. Lemme see what you got.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

Matt, I might have a candidate for him- actually might have 2 candidates...

'89 325i 2 door 5 speed car, red with tan non-sport interior- has broken intermediate shaft (read: needs engine or engine work...).

'91 318i 4 door 5 speed, black with grey cloth interior- my daily beater. Runs great, looks sort of crappy, recently began using coolant- I suspect cracked head or head gasket- still runs fine, oil + coolant NOT mixing, I still drive it every day.

    Both located near Raleigh, NC.

Email or PM me if you think one of these might work.

    Bret.

        Another one?

Matt... I ALSO have a friend who is looking for an E30 with about the same specifications you are looking for... I might be interested in selling my car... its modified but I got involved in an accident with a truck earlier this year on my rear passenger side quarter panel... I got a quote from Pats Bodyshop and body work will cost about $800 plus paint... damage is cosmetic and the car still drives the same... I might be interested in taking offers and I'm back in Winston... mods include:

        1990 Zinnaberrot Red 325is
M20b25 with 105k (approx) ORIGINAL miles
        5 speed tranny
        Basketweaves - black w/ polished lip w/ 75% yoko Avid H4S tires
        4.10 LS differential
        Z3 short shift
        HR RACING springs
        Bilstein sport shocks
Brembo solid rotors w/ track pads
        I.E. SS brake lines
black leather sport interior (has seen better days)
        RARE factory steering wheel
        Jim Conforti performance chip
polyeurethane tranny, motor, and diff mounts

Matt you missed a 318is in GBoro...

My friend Tony just bought a 1991 Diamondschwartz 318is with 124k miles for $900 yesterday... all we have to do is add a new muffler, battery and alternator... there are some minor dings and dents and the black and grey cloth drivers side seat has seen better days but other than that... its GREAT.

I'm gonna introduce Tony to the board soon and we'll post some pics VERY soon...
