    Wrecked 1998 328iS, $2000

Hey guys, I've decided to sell my E36. It was destined to be my drift toy, but as with most things in my life right now, I don't really have time to mess with it. The add is pretty self-explanatory, but if you have any questions, PM me or give me a call. Some one buy it and do an OBDII swap and part it...or rock it out like it is.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Gonna be honest. I've bought many 97-99 E36 328i 5spds in the middle and east TN area for $2000=$2500 with no body damage with less miles. Just sold a nice black one with M3 bits for $2300 locally.

I would be interested in it to part out for $1000. But honestly this car is a crusher. Not just because its been wrecked and not worth the repairs but since you've admitted that it was your drift car we can all assume that the engine and clutch has been beat off the rev limiter more than a DD would.

That and the fact that these things are showing up in Pull A Parts all over the place. You can grab M52 2.8l and ZF boxes for >$600. They just don't part out like they used to.

My $1000 is an honest offer though, cash in hand. I can come get it any time this week. Yes you can part it for more but that's where I make my money on time / labor.

Jesus, you guys are rough. Robert, I am Chris Chappel's friend, Chris with the turbo M50 E30 project. I wrote "to use" as a drift toy--I have literally had this thing on the road for less than a week--it hasn't seen any drift action. It needs rtabs before any of that fun occurs. I have been driving it to work/school on a boring highway commute. Here's an excerpt from my ad on bimmerforums...

"Thanks for the replies, guys. I am well aware this car is not a candidate for repair, nor would I ever try to condone that, but it is a strong running and driving E36 that goes down the road straight save for some worn RTABs. I don't need to, or really want to sell it--hence the firm price. If I end up hanging onto it, all the guts will end up in an E30 and the shell off to the scrap yard. <or it will be a dedicated drift car>

Hell, if I had a definite buyer lined up for the drivetrain I might consider parting it...and now the can of worms is open :D. On a serious note--the jackass for-sale ad is for all the craigslist morons--if someone has a serious offer on the car or drivetrain let me know. Engine has to be gone first before the car comes apart, though..."

I realize the body is fubared, and thats fine, I have rtabs on the way and some other crap for it. If it doesn't sell by the time I have it all fixed I am keeping it and will delete this ad. Anyways, it is what it is and if you have any questions let me know.

              -Chris

$1k is a serious offer if you decide you don't want to mess with the part out. Ask Chris though, a local yard let me gut a 97 328i 5spd and got the entire engine, transmission, wire harness, ECU, driveshaft and every good piece of the interior / electronics for $400 cash.

An E46 just showed up at the local Pull A Part last week which usually signals that generation before it has hit rock bottom as far as parts are concerned.

I know your offer is serious, and I appreciate it, but at this point someone would have to make it worth my while for me to not part it.

Its all about time. $1000 upfront without getting your hands dirty or $1500-$1700 slowly over a period of 6-10 months after you spend a day or two parting it out, dealing with multiple eBay and CL buyers, packing & shipping parts, and paying to have the shell hauled off.

The last E36 I parted out I paid $600 for and barely doubled my money parting it out. But check on eBay and BF.c. People are selling parts for half of what they once went for a year or two ago. I used to get $100 for a good OBC and now I'm lucky to get $50 and the prices continue to fall as they hit the yards in droves.

As Chris will tell you, I'm not trying to beat you up, just trying to save you the hassle that I go through every day. Otherwise you can kick me in the balls when you come to the Brodeo. ;)

Haha, I know you aren't trying to give me a hard time and I appeciate it. To be completely honest, my E30 has been down for so long it is kind of nice having something to play with that runs and drives...even if it isn't worth fixing cosmetically. Push come to shove, if the E30 isn't done for the brodeo, Im driving this pig .

Rest assured, I will if I need to. My RTABs and weld-in reinforcements will be here tomorrow ;).

Well, this thread has gone to shit haha.

Mods, feel free to delete, I'll probably be hanging on to this car for a minute.
