For sale is my dad's 1989 325i sedan. Zinnoberrot repaint (cheap job - some clear coat is flaking on the hood and a pillar. Clean body, only a slightly misaligned front bumper. Overall, looks pretty good. Bought this car as a project but didn't spend enough time to get it where it should be. My dad found a replacement e30 he was more interested in fixing up. He has had the car for almost a year. Mileage unknown, I'm not sure the cluster originally came from the car.
History-
The car came from Arizona and spent most of its life there. The car was bought from someone in Chicago. The previous owner converted the stock automatic transmission with a G260 manual. Also, the M20 was rebuilt within 20,000 miles. I have no information on who did the rebuild or what parts were replaced/machined.
Maintenance-
We replaced the csb but must have put the driveshaft one notch off. The
car vibrates a little at speed (didn't vibrate before new csb). The car needs new bushings (all suspension bushings) to make it feel great. The tach is funny... The rpms don't match the cluster, maybe a new cluster or code (bottom right plug into front of cluster) will fix that. It can be driven, so far the car has been reliable. 4.10 LSD installed. New tires would really help the car a lot too.
We also replaced interior bit pieces to make the car much more presentable. Cleaned the carpet, installed E46 powered seats, and replaced center counsel.
Replaced exhaust with OEM catback exhaust in great shape.
Last thing we worked on was sourcing a selector rod that would center the shifter and clear the balancer on the driveshaft. I modified the stock piece to the right design and length, just needs to be welded for added strength.
Price-
$2800. Not interested in trades. Possibly interested in parts.
