HTH did this go for $16k?!

If there's a better place for this, please move.

How the hell did this '87 iS sell for $16k with just four pictures, all exterior? :hitler:

Can anyone make sense of this bidding?

Compare to the junk that goes for 8-10k on eBay this actually looks like a nice example in the right color with the right mods. I would have guessed this could to go for 10k on eBay. Glad to see prices on the rise

I met the owner of this car--a real E30 enthusiast.

I've seen it around in the summer, and from what I could tell, in great shape with some rare parts on it.

Look for a re list due to fraudulent bidding or lots of $20k + E30s on ebay soon. That's crazy!

                      E30 tax is crazy these days, $16k is E39 M5 and E46 M3 money.

At least the way ebay bidding used to work (several years ago when I last used it), you would put in your max bid, and it would put in the minimum amount to give you the high bid for you. So when that person put in their bid, the high bid was $6k, so it made his $6100. What he actually put in was 15898, so when the next person put in a bid more than the current amount, he had to go to 15899 to get above the other guy's max bid. Then the first guy upped his max bid, and the second guy beat it again (a***a vs a***m bidding war)

I'm not sure why some are out of chronological order though:
                        a***a(*0*)* ***US $6,100.00 Apr-04-13*08:15:16 PDT
                        1***y(*9*) ***US $6,000.00 Mar-28-13*18:24:21 PDT
                        a***a(*0*)* ***US $5,100.00 Apr-04-13*08:15:16 PDT
                        1***y(*9*) ***US $5,000.00 Mar-28-13*18:24:09 PDT
And all of the bids for a***a occurred at the same time on Apr 4.

Lots of zero feedback bidders is always suspicious.

Yep, it's just all wonky, but it was a max bid situation. Now the max bid could have been from a friend, or the seller himself.
