2000 AMG SLK230 5 speed supercharged San Diego

Giving the Rev crowd before CL to hopefully get a more serious crowd. If I don’t get any bites than to CL it goes. Was planning on keeping this car for a while but with a family of four and no time to myself. I am unable to enjoy it.

2000 Mercedes SLK 230 Kompressor, white with black interior. Hard top convertible. What makes this a rare find is the full factory AMG package and manual transmission. Clean title, pink slip in hand. Higher mileage at 21XXXX but maintained and recently serviced. Asking $5000 Have all the owner manuals and factory key with remote lock unlock panic function.

Exterior 8 out of 10. Recently replaced windshield. Has door dings. All issues can be resolved by a competent paintless dent repair technician. Full AMG package which is factory color coded and more aggressive and different front, rear bumpers and sideskirts from the standard SLK. To complete the package staggered AMG alloys. The front of the bumper was recently resprayed to clean up some sand blasting and scrapes from being so low.

Interior 9 out of 10. No cracks on dash or leather. Heated seats get toasty as does the heater. AC gets nice and cold. I think the tinted windows have helped keep the interior in good shape. All power functions work fan, locks, windows etc.

Engine higher mileage but one of the best out there. Idles perfectly and pulls really strong. Previous owner reports having super charger changed, I don’t have documentation for it. New engine mounts, driver’s side replaced. The passenger side is not installed yet but will go with the new owner. These were about 60 dollars a piece. All brand new belts recently installed along with fresh mobile one full synthetic oil (6 quarts) with new oil filter. New air filter.

Drivetrain. Manual transmission 5 speed the way a roadster should be. Shifts smoothly through all gears and no grinding. Previous owner reports having changed the clutch at 180K miles. New redline fluid just put in along with new transmission mount to make things even smoother. Differential received mobile one 75/90 full synthetic fluid as well.

Electrical. Top opens and closes just as new with a touch of a button. Interior lights and license plate lights were replaced with LED’s as well as the fog lights. This causes the light out warning icon to come on when the lights are on. The sound system is stock and sounds great. Factory 6 disc cd changer with factory sub woofers sound really impressive. The only issue here is the center buttons on the radio are finicky and do not respond all the time.

Suspension. Front bilsteins were installed by previous owner. Rear may have stock shocks still. Plans were to keep it long term so a full set of new rotors front and back as well as brake pads front and rear, front wheel bearings both sides will convey with the purchase and not installed. The car doesn’t need it yet but was bought for the future.

Also have a box with old parts, mounts air filter headlights that will go to the new owner. Please contact me if you are serious and be respectful of my limited time. Contact me via pm or e-mail bimmer4unow@juno.com with your cell number or e-mail and I’ll get back to you.

    updates and additional pics

Thanks for the inquiries everyone. I'm from a BMW background and thought this car would speak to more of the BMW crowd being a manual tranny car that is sporty-not the usual Mercedes demographic. Also really the best of both worlds of having a hard top and a convertible rear wheel drive car. Having owned a convertible e30 and living with its cowl shake the chasis on this car top down or up is just fun with the supercharged powerplant driving the rear wheels.

    Here are some faqs.

    1. I am flexible on the price and am willing to work with offers, sorry no trades though
    2. I am usually free in the evening after work and on the weekends to meet/show
    3. Here are some additional pictures of the cosmetic areas that I mentioned on the driver's side. Its honestly hard to capture because it isn't that noticeable but there if you really look for it. In the first picture it is actually before the shadow of the side mirror. The dark area is not a dent but the shadow from the mirror. Your paintless dent repair guy could knock it out.

I can post more pictures upon request. Its been nice talking to some of you. If interested please e-mail at bimmer4unow@juno.com and I'll respond with a call or e-mail. Still avoiding craigs' list for now.

Thanks for the interest. Here are some more answers to questions. The registration is current and paid till January of 2014. I'll smog for the next buyer in CA once I get a strong commitment.

Any other questions let me know. I may have a potential but seemed like a low offer at 4K even...We'll see its been nice chatting with some of you.
