SOLD! Thanks guys!
Hey guys,
Up for sale is my project e30. I bought it with the intentions of lowering it and returning to 100% mechanical condition then address the cosmetics, and now am looking to get into an E36 M3 instead of the E30. I've dealt with a fair share of car sales on m3post and m3forum and bimmerforums, under the name bretster or knicks, since i only have one post here lol.
It is Zinno Red/Black, has a 5-Speed Manual Transmission and has approx. 160k miles. Odo no longer works and is stopped at 153k.
Start off with the good:
- Car runs AWESOME. Drove it two hours yesterday straight no hiccups or anything. Drove it from south jersey/pennsylvania area two hours and it was perfect in highway, city and traffic driving.
- Car does not overheat, no leaking.
- Body has no rust other than hairline rust behind driver taillight. It's basically unnoticeable.
- Automatic windows work
- Heater is pretty warm but not steaming hot. A/c is pretty cold but not like frigid cold lol
- Bumpers have been tucked in the "euro bumper" fashion. Unsure if these are euro metal bumpers or someone did the tuck themselves but it looks very clean in person and updates the look of the car nicely.
- Car never was in any accidents, carfax is on hand.
- Has new low beam lights, turn signals and rear lights installed.
- Recently (within 50 miles) has had an oil change, air filter change, MAF cleaned and coolant flushed.
- Shifts great, goes into all gears nicely.
- Other than rip in driver seat and crack in dash, the car's interior cleans up nicely and is very clean for an e30.
- NJ inspection sticker good till 9/2013
- Working head-unit is currently installed, functional and included in sale
- Just coils away from being an awesome stanced e30.
- Diamond racing steelies were just refinished in white and have brand new tires. Rears are stretched.
Bad:
- The paint. There are approximately 4 dents around the body, two on passenger side and two on driver side that could be addressed as they are clearly visible. Passenger front fender is a different red than the rest of the car, driver front fender has clear coat peeling. Car is just faded all around, I would have resprayed it if I was keeping as project car.
- Clutch slips slightly when at full warm operating temperature. It's noticeable going up hills in high gears and full throttling in 5th at low speeds.
- Driver seat is ripped and dash has a crack in it.
- Shift boot was ripped so I just ripped it off. Guy on r3v does boots for 25 shipped.
- Driver door handle has an interesting way of opening it from the inside, works from the outside perfect. Just need to replace the handle part in the inside.
- Glovebox handle broke off from previous owner pulling too hard.
- Driver side window trim is broken/missing
- Car has no antenna. I use my ipod in the car and hook it up to the head unit to play music
- Bought the car with no muffler. There is still currently no muffler on the car. Planned on buying a headerback exhaust for cheap but I actually like the way it sounds like this.
- Car does not start first time under cold start. The second crank works though, not sure why but the car starts the second time everytime.
- While driving, suspension squeaks. Not sure if they're the shocks or bushings but it squeaks. My temporary remedy is listening to music while driving lol. It does ride very nice though, smooth and not too bumpy.
- Manual sunroof crank cracked off, bought it like this, the cranker is currently in the driver door card with another shift knob.
- Title has exceeded mechanical limits on it because the odometer broke.
- Rear tires on oem rear bottlecaps have low tread, hence why I bought the diamond racing wheels.
That's all I can think of for now. Car is currently in my garage and I have the title in hand. First buyer with the cash takes it.
I'm interested in trades for an E36 M3 with less than 100k miles, must be a coupe and must be manual, and of course I'll put cash on top.
Here's some pictures I took three days ago on 5/5/2013, and how she currently sits. Once again, I have the front set of Diamond Racing steelies in my garage, I'm waiting for the 10mm spacers to come in.

Price is obo, I'm located in North Jersey. Car can be seen at any time on the weekends and anytime on the weekdays after 2pm.
Thanks for looking guys, shoot me a text if you're interested or call me. If I don't answer, leave me a voicemail. I'm a motivated seller, I want this gone but I'm not dropping it for too cheap. Let me know what you guys think.
