for $8k with what the owner listed, it's a heck of a deal, surprised it's not sold yet.

I'm curious as well. Looks rather lovely
West German BMWs, they just don't make the same as they did before the wall fell.
^Case in point: Auto-Repair Technology. Everytime my car isn't starting or acting up I let it sit, sometimes for an hour, sometimes for days. But it eventually fixes itself.

I was in Denver last week and took a good look at this car. Hansel was very accomodating and showed me everything, answered all questions, and ultimately we went out for a lengthy drive. I have to say that this is one of the cleanest swaps I have ever seen in person. The wiring is really good and the details were paid attention to. No check lights or funny electrical gremlins, and everything that is hooked up works as it should.

My favorite part of the car though, is how clean the chassis is - dry and free of corrosion. It really is a no-stories, fairly well-sorted car. It's worth what is being asked. You could not find an E30 chassis this clean for less than $5K, and then you would have to throw more than $5K more at whatever car you find yourself just to do a swap w/ exhaust, 5-lug, suspension and interior. Not to mention that the rear fenders are ready to accept more rubber on this one (read: the door is open for FI if you want to go that way). By the way, the 260 is just fine with the S50 and short-shift kit on this car. It makes the right sounds, pulls strong and does not have torque/HP curve flat spots.

I would just buy this thing and go track it, with not much more than a different rim/tire combination. It doesn't even need upgraded brakes, as the E30 M3 brakes are strong and progressive in feel (of course we did not run so hard and so long that I found the fade threshold).

Regrettably, after trying unsuccessfully to convince my better half that we need another E30 in the garage, I'm not in a position to buy this one. I want it though - and you should too if you are in the market for a swapped E30.
            .
