    WTB - NC - e30 $6000-7000+

Well, I've been searching upon searching for the e30 that fits my needs and taste and either they are just out of reach (money or distance) or just aren't what I want to drive on a regular basis. Pretty open on some things but more specific on others:

Color not the most important part
front seats can be beat...I have a nice set of heated grey leather
mechanicals very important to be sorted and strong
    driveline updated and solid
reliable as a ~25 yr old car can be
2 or 4 door considered although sedan needs some sport attributes
    plastic bumpers preferred
nearest Raleigh NC would be much appreciated
5 spd a must for this one
just about any engine is fine (again strong is key)
A/C is a must as summer rapidly approaches
upgraded susp is awesome, but not necessary
nothing stanced (slammed), I don't want to have to pay to bring back up
    to a grown-ups ride height

I welcome your suggestions and if there is something on here that I have missed, please feel free to refresh my memory. Thanks in advance and I hope I can find one soon!

This is the car it will be replacing once it sells (note: I don't have to "wait"
    until it sells...cash on hand.

    Thanks

There is an overall clean plastic bumper 5 speed sedan in red for sale in Charlotte for $1500. It only has 119k original miles but needs a new driver fender.

Honestly, I'm not sure why you have had a hard time finding an e30 in your price range.

At there first of this week there was a MINT alpine white with cardinal interior and the owner was only asking $5000. It was one of the cleanest I've seen.

What method of searching are you using?

yeah, that one broke my heart freakin' quick my friend...I was one of the first to PM him, but obviously someone else offered him over ask. He sent me a PM asking me about my e28 (I wasn't even offering that as part of the deal or anything). I was in the car and couldn't get back (no number to call, only email) to him until I made my desitination and was already sold within that 35 min window! Sucked to say the least.

There are several around, but either they need a grand or two worth of work and are still at $5000 or they just don't meet my level of "clean". I'm an honest buyer and seller and haven't run across one that stirs my emotions unless it's 8 or 10 g's that I don't have! Hence, I'm asking for some assistance.

I hear ya, but with $6k I could turn that $1500 sedan into a super clean daily. But it sounds like you are looking for something ready to drive today. I look all the time. I'll pass along anything I find

That's much appreciated. I would love a fun project, but no time and space so yes, this one has to be road ready. Go spank that $1500 car into a cool ride for me and I'll give YOU the $6K!! HA

Send me the $6k and give me a couple months to sort its issues.

That car could for sure be worth $6k by putting a couple into it just judging by the pictures and description

I can't make any time guarantees (I get itchy with cash around), but I am happy to listen to what this mystery car is.:o

                Teaser pic or two?

Hangin' at Vintage and deciding an e30 is a must. Who's ready to put up a worthy example for new onwership? You like cash?

                  :-)

My 5 will be heading to a new home on Saturday so I am REALLY looking for my next classic! If you have something that truly matches what I described in original post, please let me know. I am willing to travel or ship for the right one.

I can up my budget if it gets us talking about something awesome...

Well, as it seems, I tried my best to find the right e30 but I still managed to wind up with yet another e28. This time full euro and near perfect condidtion without being far away. Thanks to those who replied and offered up some worthy cars for consideration. This should be the one I keep for the long-haul.

Excited to go pick it up tomorrow afternoon.

I thought I might bump this because I may be in the market again. I am not getting rid of the e28 or anything, but desiring an e30 still. I am also considering e34 M5's which I realize is quite the opposite end. I merely have an affinity for most older BMW's. Budget is determined with each example and only looking for truly nice rides with no stories and documented maintenance.

                        Thanks for your help!

Seems like a pretty cool car. I'll keep this info on hand. I think I want something a little more original at this point. I know I would thoroughly enjoy the power though!

On the hunt for realz right now. Let's see some really awesome cars pop up here. Budget remains 6,7-possible 8 grand for the right one.

                              Thanks
