E34 M5 Rebuilt, Maintained, Reliable.

Hello everyone,
For sale is my ridiculously reliable M5. The car is originally from CA but brought to NM in the late 90s (no rust). The interior is good shape (minus small tear on driver side bolster). The only thing that is not 100% original on the car are the 8-series wheels on it...however, if my asking price is met, I will throw in a set of M-Parallel wheels in good shape. The car does not smoke or leak/burn any oil or coolant. Alpine white paint is peeling its clear coat. The M5 has gotten an almost complete engine rebuild (with the exception of the rings and bearings); Other then that the motor was taken out taken apart, fully cleaned, and after assembly, the valves where adjusted to factory specs .The rebuild has around 1,700 miles on it which has had three oil changes (+ a 4th one done yesterday); also passed NM state emissions with flying colors. The car needs absolutely nothing to be up to par (It does need a blower motor which I have and will replace). Just came back from a trip to Nevada and it runs like a dream. Only quality parts were used on the rebuild (no cheap parts). The reason I am selling the car is because I truly need the money to finish my last semester in school . Clutch, throwout bearing, resurfaced flywheel and pressure plate.
Vacuum hose, spark plugs,
Water distribution pipe seals
Pentosin flush
Drilled rotors
Clear Corners (Front/Rear)
Oil flush w/BMW Filter
Blue BMW coolant

Good:
All electronics work: Cruise control, sunroof , locks, seats, etc.
All M-related interior pieces are there.
Brakes are in good shape
Passed Smog
headliner is not sagging
No lights are on the dash (no finicky problems)
Rear self-leveling system is in good shape
No clunking or shaking
Car was never changed to green coolant in its life (according to PO, and the one before that)
Has the complete toolkit
No Accidents/Clean title


Not so good:
Blower motor needs replacing ( I have the piece)
Clear coat is coming off
Tear on the driver seat
Slight crack on driver side-skirt ( can be fixed $80, or replaced with an OEM one for 160 shipped at BMW)



Overall car is in great mechanically shape. I wouldn't imagine selling it if it weren't for my current situation ( however if that changes, I will remove the post). Good chance to buy clean titled, great running E34 M5. Serious inquires only.

That makes no sense

Just to triple check if any metal shavings were still there; kind of meticulous when it comes to it. Plus, oil is cheap...so I didn't mind doing it so frequently.

I bought the red 318is from daspoop - I would buy another car from him.

This was my first time buying a car sight-unseen, so I was frustrated at first with some minor things on the car that I neglected to ask him about.

As far as the xboxgod's story goes, I spoke to the seller and it's a mix of overly high expectations and poor communication. The car was being driven to and from class in Albuquerque, so the trip back to TX for the new owner naturally turned into a shakedown test. The steering wheel thing was a result of the seller changing phone numbers (which happened when I was planning my purchase).

Jeff is a trustworthy guy - he really just needs to post up some better photos and people need to really understand what they are getting into before flying to NM to buy a car built in the 80s/early 90s

"beware of seller" is bit strong in this case you think? After all sellers who state his/her car is "super-reliable" and "ready to go" I would listen with a voice whispering in my ear saying that this car needs lots of "little" things, but solid otherwise.. this 318i represents a car that simply got old, but solid otherwise... it all depends how much you paid... As far as the "lying" part about content not there or not working I would agree that's a bit shady...

I had a similar (but worst) experience purchasing an Alfa from Tucson.....If someone is traveling a long distance to pick up a car be honest....we are all adults let us know what it needs a lie just for the money is just that a lie...
