First let me start by saying I'm not good at lengthy detailed threads so I promise I'll forget something. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll update this as needed.
Second.... Along with bringing the car back to life I'm selling this car for a friend of mine whos husband recently past away. She knows nothing of these cars and has no idea of how to go about selling it. So here we are.
Another important note is the title. She contacted me on June 15th to let me know that she finally received whatever paper work related to his succession relative to filing for the titles. So basically we should have it next week. I sort of feel like im getting ahead of myself because its not in hand yet everything is in play so I figured screw it... I'll just go ahead and at least put it out there.
And if you noticed I said "titles", there are two of these cars. But thats for another thread. In the very near future.
Ok... and now to the car. Its been sitting for a few months before he passed away. So im guessing it hasn't ran in about 6 months. One crankshaft sensor later and it fired fight up. Without doing anything other than checking the fluids I immediately took it on a short test drive. The car runs and drives great.
We arent putting a lot of money into it for the sale but I am putting a good bit of labor into getting it clean and making sure it will be reliable enough to make a good base for someone. I am putting a timing belt on it just to prevent anything catastrophic from happening after the sale. I didnt know how old it was so this is just to make me feel better. I would feel terrible if I sold this car and a week later the belt went. So thats that.
The interior is cardinal and has seen better days. The only rips in the seats are on the top of the rear in the center. They appear to have probably gotten wet in the past because the leather is hard and shrunk up. I've removed them and have been working harder than I should be on reviving them. I've been using lexol cleaner and conditioner. It is definitely "no miracle worker"... but it seems to be bringing the color back. These things are like card board. I think maybe some letherique would be their saving grace. Anyone with experience in this area feel free to chime in!!! The dash is excellent. The door panels are really good and the carpet will more than likely turn out really well.
The tires are in really good shape and probably aren't very old.
Ill go ahead and put up some pictures.
These are before I started working on the car.

I took these pictures today. I started working on it monday.
