The car is from New Mexico, so it is rust-free. It was dealer-maintained to 2002, which leaves an 11 year gap, but is still reflected in the condition of the car. Hopefully someone interested in owning a very clean, rust-free, original 318is will buy this.
As for me, I have both of my 318is for sale, as I have entered the world of Alfa Romeo. They're like more brash, less-convenient BMWs, and I'm in love.

- Car lived in New Mexico up until June, when I purchased it
- LSD
- No fogs from the factory
- Premium sound
- A/C does not work! Compressor is leaking.
Exterior
- Rust-free
- Small clear failure on driver's A-pillar, trunklid, spoiler, roof
- Dents along crease of driver's fender
- Rock chip in windshield
- Moderate rock chiping on front of car
- Excellent paint hue
- Some dings, but overall 9/10
- Broken antennae mast
- Has 3M tint. Not well-applied, but effective in the sun.
- Missing front lip
- Missing a rear mudflap
- Front fenders look faded in photos - they buffed out
- Trunk lid is not aligned properly and is difficult to close on the first try
- Sunroof visor makes closing the sunroof require two hands
Interior
- 6 button OBC is funky and goes crazy often.
- Seats are cracked with bolster wear on the driver's seat
- Dash is cracked
- e-brake console is rough (can source)
- Steering wheel material rotates a bit on the top of the steering wheel
- Everything else is nice
- Small chip in windshield
Mechanical
- Car has great idle - no M42 idle issues.
- 30+ mpg highway
- Engine does not leak or consume oil in significant quantities
- Suspension properly firm, no looseness or excessive compliance
- Bilstein HDs
- Made 1,500 mile trip back from purchase with zero issues.
- Car squeaks a bit - I think it's the left rear shock
