Up for sale is my 1991 BMW 318ic convertible. This car is red with a tan cloth interior and was a California car for most of its life, before being brought over to the East Coast just a few years ago. This is a rare unmolested E30 convertible that is truly in original condition but for the aftermarket wheels. The car has 152,678 original miles, and the odometer continues to work. All paintwork is original and there is no rust on the vehicle. Even the original dashboard has no cracks in it, which is a big plus for E30 owners! Overall, the car is in excellent condition for its age. The front seats have no rips or tears and look great. The upper top portion of the rear seat has been reupholstered. The car runs strongly and is a very sweet car to drive. I have owned much faster cars, but few offer more pleasure on a nice sunny day!
To summarize, the good:
- Original paint
- California car, no rust
- Perfect dashboard
- Interior in fine shape.
- M42 engine with timing chain – very reliable with great fuel economy.
- Rear shocks have been replaced, and new RSMs have been installed with reinforcement plates
The bad:
- Rear window had a small tear that has been professionally patched.
- One wheel is missing a centercap, never got around to contacting the company
- Front strut cartridges could use replacing.
- Tires may have only a year of life remaining.
- It's Missing one fog light cover.
