Hey everybody,
This is my first post to the forums, but I've lurked awhile. I've been in love with e30s before I knew what they were. So a friend told me to look here, and it has been really great to read a lot of the buying guides and basic maintenance guides so I have an idea what I'm getting myself into. I'm a fairly busy college student, so I don't have a ton of time for modding, but I'm looking forward to having a great, classic car. I'm currently looking for a first car and I definitely want it to be a e30.
Must haves:
- 5 speed
- daily driver (no project cars)
- somewhere within a reasonable drive of Greenville, SC
Nice to haves:
- a decent stereo
I don't really have a preference on which year / model. Like I said, I'm just getting started. I have my eye on a '90 325i cabriolet, but I'm not sure of it's condition. So I thought I would check here.
What I really want is a car that I can buy for around $2000, and put in around a $1000 in parts and have a good car, or a car for around $3000 that is ready to go. Just from looking around it seems doable.
Thanks for looking everybody!
