    FS 1984 E23 745i turbo (new england)

Graphite gray exterior, cream interior leather. 138k. Runs and drives (and boosts) well. Originally a California car, imported by prominent BMW dealer and tuner Hardy and Beck in Dec. 1983. H&B did the original owner the favor of leaving ECE lights and euro bumpers in place. I have a Massachusetts title for it.

Radio (original Blaupunkt) has power but does not switch on the amp. The climate controls do work. Unsure on the A/C, it's weak if it is working.

Recent records show that the head gasket and studs were done at 120k. Transmission (these were all automatic) shifts well, tires are OK but not new. Interior was redone in 2006, though there is a small tear in the passenger seat leather. Roundels should be replaced as well.

Paint is faded on roof and trunk. Hood and driver's front quarter (and door) got new paint from an incident early in the car's life: quarter panel sports a DOT-R sticker.

Overall a solid car and great on the highway. Asking $3000. Car is located in Southern VT, but may be delivered within New England or further by arrangement. PM me for a phone number.

The state of Vermont only requires/reissues titles for registration of vehicles 15 years old or newer. Vehicles older than 15 years can actually be registered without a title in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

FYI: Title washers sometimes use this to their advantage, requesting a "lost title" for a vehicle last registered in one of these New England states in order to get a clean one issued for a previously-branded car.

edit: more information specific to VT titles here: http://dmv.vermont.gov/registrations/drivers/title

Local offers are turning up, no money yet though.

A couple details I've uncovered since looking over the available records:

Dampers are Bilstein HD all around. Fronts were replaced along with strut housings less than 10k miles ago.
Speaking of miles, the actual mileage appears to be 4500 less than indicated. Cluster swap was done recently, but offset recorded.

Transmission and oil services are up to date. PM me for a phone number to inquire.
