    Houston TX Area: 1989 325i 4 Door Alpine White - $3700 SOLD

    Sold...

Inspection good through may next year and has passed every year since I bought the car. I purchased the car in March 2010 from a guy in Houston (I'm in Beaumont). I ran a carfax before I bought it, no funny stuff except it said the car rear ended another car at some point in its past, leading to the small dent of the front of the hood. Both front fenders are original and have the matching vin stickers, no wrinkles or anything. Car is originally a New York car, then registered in Oklahoma, then Texas (that is going from memory on the carfax).

The guy before me bought the car in June 08 with 123k miles. He did the following to the car:
    - leather ebrake and shift boots
    - DDM shift knob
    - Analog clock conversion
    - Window tint (its starting to fade)
    - 55W HID kit for low beams
    - smoked front turn signals
    - euro grills
    - New AC compressor
    - AC tensioner bracket
    - power steering tensioner bracket
    - fuel pump relay
    - mishimoto aluminum radiator
    - reman driveshaft and center support bearing
    - new drive shaft flex disk
    - new front control arm bushings
    - FK 60mm/40mm lower springs
    - bilstein sport shocks front and rear
    - Ireland Enineering rear aluminum shock mounts
    - Suspension Techniques sway bars with end links
    - e36 high ratio steering rack
    - new Myle tie rods
    - rear subframe bushings
    - New brembo rotors and axis ultimate pads, all 4 corners
    - new rubber intake boot
    - new spark plugs
    - new water pump
    - New belts
    - new t-stat
    - new low pressure power steering hose

I bought the car March 2010 with 152k and did the following:
    - valve adjustment and valve cover gasket
    - new timing belt and tensioner
    - new water pump
    - camshaft front seal and o-ring
    - new coolant
    - new distributor rotor
    - new fan clutch
    - new fuel filter
    - new ESM 002 wheels (16x7.5 et20) w/ Kuhmo Ecsta AST in 205/50/16
    - new IS front sport lip
    - new battery
    - rebuilt shifter bushing kit
    - new shifter shaft oil seal
    - new transmission output shaft seal
    - e36 antenna base and stubby antenna
    - new oil pan and oil pan gasket
    - new clutch master and slave cylinder
    - custom removable skidplate
    - New o2 sensor
    - new fuel pressure regulator
    - new front control arms with ball joints
    - new front strut bearings
    - new spring pads
    - new odometer gears (common failure on e30's)
    - new rear trailing arm bushings (polyurethane)
    - all new emergency bakes
    - rebuilt all calipers except driver front (have parts just haven't finish it yet)
    - all new stainless braided brake lines (same story for driver front)
    - New diff cover
    - new driver side half shaft
    - Rear IS trunklid spoiler
    - custom 2.5" exhaust with flowmaster 50 series muffler from the head to tailpipe

    Car as it sits now/quirks/issues:
    - 169k
    - Runs and drives very well
    - left rear window doesn't go up or down (not sure if its just a switch or regulator)
    - driver door lock doesn't work but I have a rebuild kit.
    - has a few rust spots, pics of all the significant ones coming
    - paint is faded; its the original 23 year old paint; a fair number of chips but not terrible
    - a few small dings; biggest one is on the driver side rear door
    - every once in a blue moon the speedo will stop working intermittently; pretty sure its just a loose wiring harness from when I replaced the odometer gears because it didn't happen before that
    - fuel pump has started making a whining noise every once in awhile
    - interior is in good shape, a few minor items here and there but nothing of significant; worst thing is the front headliner section is coming unglued
    - Drivetrain is very good; been chasing small vacuum leaks here and there but ive fixed all the big ones, other than that very mechanically sound
    - has a 3.73 final drive with LSD, spins right at 3krpm at 70mph
    - exhaust is louder than stock but has a nice tone to it; could be quieted down with a resonator if desired
    - runs rough for a few minutes if not started for over a week
    - only body issue that I haven't already mentioned, on the rear trunk lid one of the previous owners had a big wing on the car and drilled some holes in the lid, the previous owner plugged them with some small while plastic cap things

Price is $3700 firm (ie no less) with wheels.

    More pics coming.

                    This weekend I:

Installed a new walbro 255lph fuel pump
Rebuilt driver front caliper (that's rebuilt/blasted/painted calipers with ss lines all around).

So I am trying to chase down lock problems in my e30. What exactly are the symptoms to needing a driver side cylinder rebuilt?

                        GLWS, free bump.

                        My don't quote me list:

I'm in Beaumont too, we'll have to meet up sometime. I've got a couple of e30's, one is in the process of a complete rebuild and the other is my occasional daily. What are you replacing this car with?
